I couldn't breathe.

He was here. Xander.

Standing about two feet away. The guy with the limo stared back and forth between Xander and I. My guess trying to find out what the hell was going on.

"What are you doing here?" I whispered.

He moved me away from the door of the limo and shut it.

"Obviously here to save your ass from one big mistake."

I rolled my eyes and snatched my arm away.

I may or may not have been a teeny-weeny wasted but I wasn't stupid.

And I sure as hell hadn't lost my memory.

The guy slid into his car, "I don't wanna stick around to the finale so if you don't mind..."

"Leave." Was Xander's answer.

The limo door closed once again and sped away.

Well there goes that.

I turned to glare at Xander.

"What the hell? I knew what I was doing! Where did you read that you need to protect me? You never did anyway! Why start now?"

He looked at me with eyes that almost held change. Change for the better.

Haha. I knew better.

"Where are you staying? I'll take you home." He said grabbing my purse from my hand.

I don't know why but that seriously pissed me off.

"Give that back, and there's no way in hell I'm telling you where I'm staying you son of a-"

"You always did get a fowl mouth when you were wasted. Can't believe I actually missed that."

This maybe even pissed me off more.

"Missed that?? What!? You've got to be kidding me! You're the one who left after you hit me. Most likely because you didn't want me going to the cops. It would have ruined your little baseball career."

His face got dark and it almost felt like that day. He was gonna hit me again.

But he didn't.

He handed me my purse back, turned around and walked away.

"Fine." I heard him whisper.

I walked the other way. No clue where I was going.
