Morning arrived, and it had never felt so good. Izuku had woken up a few minutes before his alarm, feeling wonderfully rested and completely content. After all the chaos and stress, he was revelling in the ability to relax, knowing that Eri was safe and being taken good care of.

The first light of dawn was only just beginning to seep through his closed curtains. He lazily swung his legs over the edge of the bed, stretching out his whole body with a muffled noise of satisfaction before letting his bare feet touch the cool floorboards. Turning off the alarm as he trudged past, Izuku grabbed the curtains and pulled them open, letting him survey the view across campus with sleepy eyes for a peaceful moment. It really was a nice day indeed.

He changed into his work-out gear and left his room silently, padding down to the common room with a yawn. Izuku blinked. Shouto and Kacchan were already sitting two separate tables, eating breakfast in their uniforms.

"G'mornin'," Izuku greeted, tilting his head in question as he approached. "What're you doin' up so early, Shouto-kun? I know Kacchan has the provisional license exam course thing, but..."

"Oh, I didn't get a chance to tell you. I asked to take the extra classes, too. The only reason I passed was due to your advice, and I thought it would be good to learn from my own mistakes so I can be a better hero, eventually," Shouto explained peaceably, taking a bite of toast and chewing slowly.

"Sorry, I haven't really been around much, have I?" He said apologetically, walking past his friends into the kitchen.

"You were busy. We saw it on the news."

Izuku gave a hum of acknowledgement, but it didn't ease his guilt at neglecting his friends, even though he had good reason. "But anyway, that was a really mature decision, Shouto-kun! I bet you and Kacchan will learn a lot."

Stomping footsteps announced Kacchan's approach from behind. Izuku merely stepped aside without taking his eyes off his breakfast, and his friend dumped his dishes in the sink with a clatter before grumbling off again. Shouto was quieter, always light-footed and more difficult to hear approach, and carefully placed down his own dirty dishes. He paused, watching silently for a few seconds.
