do i look like a clown? ❞
"NAOMI, wait! i have something to give you!" naomi hears someone call after her. she turns around and sees her crush. "shoyo?" she asks, surprised. she stops in her tracks and waits. "here, take this. it's my jersey and i want you to have it," he says, giving her the cutest smile ever, in naomi's opinion.
before she can even say anything, she feels someone shaking her.
"YAH! WHY ARE YOU STILL ASLEEP? HANJAE'S GONE TO SCHOOL LONG AGO!" a loud booming voice yells, which causes naomi to jump up from her bed. as she's still half-asleep, she didn't manage to see who woke her up or hear what that person's grumbling about. however, she's pretty sure it's her mother, from that loud voice. naomi yawns and takes her sweet time to stretch herself, trying to wake herself up. when she's finally done, she takes a glance at the clock.
now, it's her turn to scream.
her shrill screaming voice must've woke everyone in the neighbourhood up. "FUCK I'M LATE! FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK-" her voice echoes through the hallway she's running in. she sprints all the way to the bathroom, finally not regretting taking up netball as a club. those runs naomi's forced to make sure do help in strengthening her agility, which is really useful when you're going to be late to school.
at the speed of light, naomi brushes her teeth, pulls her hair into a bun, washes her face, before deciding it was too late to even take a shower. she sighs before rushing back to her room to get dressed.
within minutes, she's out of the house and bolting towards the school. thank god the house's near the school, she thought, before taking a glimpse at her watch. it's 7:24am, which means that there's only 6 minutes left till she's late to school. that also means 6 minutes left till she gets detention, which is basically hell.
when she reaches a crowded area, she slows down. even though she's going to be late, she still needs to keep her dignity. gonna mentally prepare myself for hell, naomi thought. eventually, she gets out of the crowd and immediately begin scurrying once again.
ding dong ding dong......
the school bell rings and naomi has just reached the school grounds. she screeches softly as she dashes up the stairs and stops running once she's nearing her classroom. she brisk-walked into the room, hitching on her breath when she saw the teacher in front of the room.
everyone's looking at her by now. embarrassed from getting attention for a bad reason, she turns beet red and apologises profusely for being late.
once she's settled in her seat, she heaves a sigh. that's one way to start a day, she thought, mentally laughing at herself.
