Chapter Six

I led the way back to our flat, which was more than a few blocks away from the cinema.

"Who's idea was it to walk to the cinema?" I said breathlessly as we reached our front door.

"I think it was your idea," Phil said from behind me with a laugh. I turned to him and raised my eyebrows at him in disbelief.

"Well, that was a terrible idea. How dare you allow us to go through with it?" I asked playfully. Gwen grinned at us as she followed us inside and up the stairs. Phil led her into the living room and put on some music while I got refreshments. I heard pop music coming from the living room. I almost laughed when I heard Phil scrambling to find the remote to turn it down so we wouldn't get in trouble with the neighbours.

"You probably should've found in the remote before you turned on the radio," Gwen told him as I walked in. I dropped the foods and drinks on the table and disappeared back into the kitchen. I returned a couple of seconds later with a small cooler that I had filled with beer. Phil grabbed two and handed one to Gwen while I grabbed one for myself. Phil left the room to get a game for us to play, which left Gwendolyn and me alone.

"Have you ever been to a three-friend party?" I asked with an awkward laugh. Gwen smiled and shook her head.

"Nope, this is my first. Have you ever thrown a three-friend party?" she asked me. I grinned at her and shook my head. Phil came back with a game, but had it hidden behind his back so we couldn't see what it said.

"Alright, people. I have the best party game of all time," he said proudly. Then he brought it forward and it immediately made sense why he had hidden it. "Gwen have you ever played Cards Against Humanity?"

"Nope," she answered, popping the p. We sat down on the ground and pulled out the cards while I explained the game to her. "So, it's kind of like Apples to Apples?" I considered it for a few minutes.

"Basically, but it's more horrifying and has more adult humour," I told her. She nodded in understanding, and then finished setting the game up with Phil.

Phil looked around at all of the cards in front of us, and then smiled. "Let's get started."
