Do you think everybody at your school writes romance and fanfiction? Probably not. However, if you look at the people on wattpad, all the fucking stories are either about 5SOS, Harry Styles, and Percy Jackson. I mean, can you please write about something interesting?
Anyway, the reason for the wattpad affect is because we are taking a very small portion of the population. Also, that portion is only people who go on Wattpad. And most people go on Wattpad to write fanfics. This teaches us two things. 1) You need to be careful about only taking data about a selected portion of the population and 2) PEOPLE ON WATTPAD NEED TO WRITE ABOUT MORE GENRES! There needs to be more Wattys who want to write books that don't revolve around singers, or other books. It is fine to have some writers who write about those kinds of things, but please, do not write just about romance. Try writing something else, like Sci-FI or Fantasy. Thank you!
