Beatrice leapt from the bed, not noticing her Kindle slithering gently from the silk sheets to clatter on the polished parquet floor. She crossed the several metres to the hotel room door in a few seconds, noting in passing that her signature red lipstick was immaculately in place. She smiled at her reflection, ran her hand through her hair, and put her eye to the spyhole.
Caspian's warm eyes shone back at hers.
She pulled open the door, and pulled him in.
