Levi's POV

"Do we have to go? They don't even like me," I plead with my parents to let me stay home. I have to go to Alessia Reed's coronation, who I met ten years ago and didn't really get to know.

My dads both sigh deeply, giving each other a look, and then turning back to me. My dad, Aiden, says, "Yes, you have to go. We have known their family for generations, my parents having been saved thanks to Calvin Reed. We are excited to see them again, just like you should be."

Quickly relenting, never standing up for myself, I nod my head submissively. My parents look at each other before giving me tight smiles. My papa, Spencer, says, "Let's go to the forest and run there now. We don't want to be late."

Following them out the door, we quickly get to the tree line and tie our clothes to our ankles, shifting. Jaxson and Lilly, my grandparents join us, shifting as well. We run the one hour it takes, all of us royal wolves.

Royal wolves are faster than the average wolf. Royal wolves can only have one child, so here I am. I'm in line to be the next Alpha, but my parents think I'm too submissive to lead. I want to prove them wrong, but I can't. They are right.

I'm eighteen but too scared to stand up to others. I don't have the power within me to do it.

Thinking about this on the way to the coronation, we arrive quickly. We shift back, putting on our clothes and walking the rest of the way.

We arrive right on time, everyone arriving at the same time as us. Walking towards Calvin and Miles, Alessia's grandparents, Jaxson and Lilly break out into wide smiles.

"Hi Calvin! Long time, no see!" Lilly practically shouts. She gets a little over excited at times like these.

Calvin takes it in stride, smiling as well. "Hello, Lilly. I'm glad to see you are doing well." Jaxson and Calvin shake hands, and Miles and Lilly break off, talking to each other intently. I tune them out, thinking about the books I'm rereading.

I'm rereading the Harry Potter series for the twelfth time. It quickly became my favorite series after reading it when I was little. I fell in love with the characters and world, being able to get lost in it for hours.

I tune back in when my parents nudge me towards the chairs. Noticing everyone sitting down, I walk to our seats. I lead us to the seats in the back, even after Calvin and Miles insist we sit with them in the front. I don't want to draw any attention; the least amount of people will see me if we sit in the back.

I watch  as the current Alpha, Lukas, makes a speech. "Hello everyone, thank you all for coming. I'm happy you all made it to celebrate the coronation of my daughter, Alessia. I'll keep this short, wanting to transfer the title on to her as soon as possible. Alessia is ready for anything thrown her way, she will take it all with the grace of an Alpha. She excelled at Alpha training, proving to everyone that she is ready for this. I welcome, Alessia Reed!"

Alessia walks onto the stage, and she is just as beautiful as she was ten years ago. I didn't talk to her at all when we met, me being too scared.

Her dirty blonde hair and hazel eyes shine brightly, the sun setting behind her. I smell this scent, an intriguing scent. Smelling like strawberries and cookie dough, I wonder where it is coming from.

Sniffing the air, my parents look at me questioningly. I just shake my head, forgetting about it.

Whatever it was, it's probably not a big deal.
