This is a first draft, and is currently undergoing editing/re-writing. I've done my best to catch any obvious grammar issues, but if you have constructive criticism, I'm all ears.

PS: Fun fact. Atropellado means to get hit by a car in Spanish.

A/N Jan. 2022: I commissioned new cover art as promised. I looove it. The artist is kimmy_art0912 from Twitter. My OCs, Rose and Lancet, were drawn for my sole use. Please do not steal/remove her watermark. Thanks.

This is a fictional world which may be similar to our own in some ways, but not in others. In this world, cyborgs/droids are a thing, and a sport where racers kill each other with their cars is popular/normal. As in they're not arrested for murder if they kill someone during a race, even if the kill was intentional rather than an accident. So long as the kill appears accidental to the public.

This is a world where aquamarine, purple, pink hair etc. are natural hair colors. This is also a world where it's completely normal/accepted for a woman to be head of a mob family or head of anything without misogyny. Though misogyny exists, it's not a wide-spread/common issue.

People use "comms" or "comm-devices" to communicate, either as a call/text like a phone, or hologram call (also called holo/holo-mode). There are also comms in armed vehicles so racers can communicate with each other. I've tried to implement some other futuristic touches here and there, but this is a first draft, so the "universe" is still forming.

As for the "mobs/mafias" in the story, they are not based solely on the Italian Mafia, Yakuza, Triad, Bratva etc. Instead, I've mixed/matched some concepts, and even made some stuff up. The only thing that defines a "mafia family/clan" is a large enough group that engages in organized crime. Therefore the "crimes" themselves can vary, and some "mobsters" will have a moral compass of some sort, whereas others don't. So don't be surprised if some mobsters aren't murderers, or some are, but they have boundaries they won't cross. Whatever laws apply in our reality, does not necessarily apply in this made up universe.
