Freya's POV
I woke up with a pounding in my head to the sound of a baby whining and whispering. Opening my eyes, I noticed I was still in the basement but the sunlight that came through the tiny window let me know it was already morning.
" Are you awake? " I heard the annoyed voice of one of Kannon's wives and I sat up as I looked around. My body was sore, my throat felt like shit and I was feeling lightheaded. I looked over to the woman who was standing with a fussing baby in her arms and her two-year-old daughter looking at me with sad eyes. God, I never wanted them to see me like this.. Noticing their mother was waiting for an obvious response I nodded my head as much as I could.
" It won't eat or stop crying and the other one wants to spend time with you. Deal with them. " She walked over to me and practically threw the baby into my arms. I shushed him softly as the little girl came over to me with tears practically coming out of her eyes. The baby immediately stopped fussing and the little girl sat beside me quietly. The woman rolled her eyes and spoke again.
" Get them and yourself cleaned up. The others are waiting for you upstairs. " She finished and walked out of the cell. I placed the bottle in the baby's mouth and the little girl cried softly as she wrapped her arms around me.
" M-mommy " She whispered to me and I sighed feeling defeated. All I wanted to do was leave. Leave this place either dead or alive but Kannon wouldn't allow it and after seeing the treatment of these poor little angels.. I don't think I would have the heart to leave them.

Placing the rinsed bowls in the cupboard, I moved over to get the bottles for the little ones when I, coincidentally, felt one of them cling to my leg. I sighed as I looked down to see her big eyes staring up at me as if I shouldn't be concerned that she was doing this. I smiled as I placed the bottles on the counter and picked her up as her pacifier bobbed slightly.
