"What!?"
"Don't 'what' at me!" You father hissed back angrily. "And stop shouting! You're talking to your father!"
"Ok, father." You fumed. "It wasn't even yours! You didn't even ask! Why did you sell the umbrella!?"
Your father glared at you. "What do you think? You know the situation we're in! It was some sort of antique umbrella and could be sold for a lot. You know we need more money!"
"And I wonder why that is." You mutter under your breath.
"What was that?" Father said. You could see a vein pulsing on his forehead. "Go to your room. I don't want to see you again until you learn to be respectful!"
You didn't need to be told twice. You stormed into your room. Your father had gambled away all the family's money, and now he's trying to get it back, only to gamble it away again. You can't take it anymore. Hot tears rolled down your cheeks. First, he falsely accused Fan and Xie and now this. You buried your face in your pillow. You cried until you dozed off into uneasy sleep.

You awoke in the morning to the silent tapping of raindrops on the window. You showered, got dressed, and walked to to get breakfast, ready to face your father's fury. Jian Yi was already eating breakfast. Your father glared and you and pointed at an object on the table.
"A letter for you." He muttered.
You picked it up. To Y/N L/N. You turned the envelope around and saw the red wax stamp. You open the letter and pulled out a piece of paper of began to read. When you finished the letter, your eyes were wide. Your brother stared at you curiously. "What's it about?"

You can't believe you're actually leaving this place. You've never been outside your town. You knew telling your father that you can win money would convince him to let you go. You checked your suitcase one last time to make sure you've gotten everything. The letter didn't only promise money. They also had the umbrella, for some reason and they knew you wanted it back.
The journey to the manor was long. You stared in awe when you arrived. You thought your house was big, but this place was on a whole other level. The black iron gates opened for you. You walked to the front doors and knocked.
A woman, who introduced herself as Emily, greeted you. You followed her into the manor. She showed you your room.
"I'll be back after you unpack to show you around." Emily smiled warmly.
With that, she left in a blink of an eye. I quickly unpacked and waited for her return.

It took you a while to adjust to the new environment. There were a lot of other people living in the manor. Emily excused you from the so called "games" for the first few days. You were briefly told what the games are about. Run around. Decode those "ciphers" and escape. There's only one rule: don't die. The word "die" scares you. You don't like thinking about death and certainly didn't like actually dying. The others assured you that no one actually died before, but it was more like being sent back here in the manor.
"The hunter," Emily continued explaining. ",has a red light. When they closer, a little red heart will appear. It gets darker when they get closer and closer. You can feel it beat."
You sat there for a while, nodding, taking in all the information.
"Yeeeep." Emma beamed at you. I swear this girl is always smiling, you thought. "That's pretty much it." She continued.
