Chapter 2: Demon Slayers.

Stumbling into the room I dropped bandages on the nightstand that sat between beds. I handed wet washcloths to the two other women, grabbing onto my wet cloth. I dunk it into a bucket of clean water, Before cleaning the wounds I rinse out access water, hearing the droplets hit the water below. I turn to look at the boy I was caring for, not noticing the boar head until now.

I look away from the boar head, quickly but gently washing away blood from deep gashes that traced his fairly pale skin. Bloodstained water dribbled down his skin, soaking into the white sheets he laid atop of. My eyes dart from place to place, trying to make sure I get everything clean and covered. I put down pressure on the largest slash that went from the right side of his collar bone, tracing all the way down to the left side of his ribs.

I grab a roll of cotton bandages and lift the bloodstained cloth quickly, placing down the new bandages and begin to wrap them around his body. Having to lift up his torso in the process. After a couple of rolls, I grab a stronger thicker roll and wrap it over the first layer. Lifting his torso for the last roundabout I feel his muscles tense, suddenly jerking away to my surprise. Grunts of pain followed. "Hey! Be careful, you're severely injured!" I warn, "Who the hell are you!?" The masked man asks loudly, gripping onto my forearm tightly. "Shh! Calm down, you're at a healing bathhouse. I'm one of the nurses that work here." I try to reassure .... "Gch"... Was all that could be heard, His grip not loosening.
"Can I continue? You're losing a lot of blood." I asked, worry lacing my voice.
Immediately after the words left my mouth I could feel his grip loosen, suddenly falling from its place, draping lifelessly over the bed.
I could feel my heart stop, scared for his life I grip onto his wrist, holding my fingers tightly to the base of his palm.

...

A subtle heartbeat. A slow one but it was still there.

A wave of relief washed over me, there was no way I was going to loose someone at this bathhouse. I never have and I hope I never will.
I look to the sides, seeing my co-workers finishing up coverages and making temporary casts for broken bones.
I look back at the boar headed boy and finish off the last of what had to be done.

//Later That Day//

Quietly walking back into the new patient's room with fresh clothing in hand I was surprised to see the three of them have awoken.
"Ah! Good afternoon! I'm glad to see you all are okay." I smile blissfully.
Two of the boys took a noticeable look at me, "Thank you for helping us. We were in terrible condition.." The boy with maroon hair spoke up, smiling weakly, but genuinely.
"That's what we're here for. To help travelers like you." I smile back, pleased that a small place like us can help others.

Looking down at the robes in my hands I realized what I came here for.
"Oh! Since you guys are up, here are some clean clothing for you three."
I tell the boys, setting down a new pair of clothes on the edge of each of their beds.
"I will leave for a moment so you can change. When I come back I will take your current clothing and wash them for you." I tilt my head with a light smile on my lips.
"If you need any help just ask." I finish off leaving the room with a wave, hearing a distant "Thank you" from the kind boy with hadafuda like earings.

//20 Minute Time Skip//

I tapped lightly on the wooden doorframe as a warning I was coming in, stepping in a see the boys dressed in the clean clothes.
Walking to each bed I grab their dirty, bloodstained ones.
"I'll get the blood out and have them back in no time." I assure, not expect a response since I noticed the three were constantly falling in and out of consciousness.
Leaving the room quietly I make my way to the washroom. Navigating the long halls to where the room sat, on the far opposite end.
Entering the dimly lit room, the only light shining in was from the evening sun outside. I place the clothes on a table, walking over to light up lanterns for more light. Walking back to the table I lift up a black gakarun jacket, noticing "destroy" written on the back, I stood staring at it for a moment in confusion until it finally hit me.
"They're Demon Slayers!"
