"Vodka, beer, or will you like to take it light and have soda?" Kayla asked with a tease in her voice.

I narrowed my eyes towards her.

"Vodka it is." She said pouring us each a drink catching sight of the look I was giving.

We were currently standing in the near empty kitchen of this massive house. There weren't much people here because most were in the ginormous living room area. The party was in full swing and there were more people than I could recognized here. Kayla handed me a red cup.

"Are you ready to let loose a little?" She asked taking a sip from her cup. Kayla was always so adamant on breaking me out of the my closeted and reclusive self. Now, don't get it twisted. I am not Kayla's project and she appreciates the way I am. She would like for me to experience more to life and who would I be if I didn't put up resistance. But not tonight.

I put the cup to my mouth and downed the cool liquid. "Ugh." I said with my face twisted as the liquid burn my throat. How the hell do people enjoy this? I was gonna have to learn because tonight I was going to need all the liquid courage I could get to help aid in the game I found myself in.

Kayla looked at me with wide eyes and her mouth slightly ajar. "Whoa! It's not juice Lee. Take it easy."

"Did that answer your question?" I asked with a smirk on my lips. I could feel the rush of the alcohol warm through my body.

Kayla smiled. "Hell yeah. Let's have some fun!" She said downing her own drink. Her facial expression mimicking my own. "I really don't know how people like this so much." Right? She poured another drinking into our cups.

She grabbed my hand and tugged me out of the kitchen to the center of the dance floor, but not before my eyes landed on Jace who was standing near the area. He was speaking to pretty blonde. She was so enthralled by him. her eyes shone bright with every word that was leaving his lips. She displayed what every girl in our school felt towards him. He was a mystery and everyone wanted to uncover all the layers he had hidden. Every girl wanted to be the one to discover Jace.

Jace's eyes locked onto my own the moment he felt my gaze. His hazel eyes stared deeply into my own even from across the room. Almost as if we were in our own world, almost as if the blonde he was talking to and the people in the room weren't there. He knew exactly how to make a girl feel like she was the only one, but I knew better. There was no way to change his player tendencies and I wasn't here to do that. Play his game, get what I needed and walk our separate ways. Feeling the buzz of the alcohol in my system, I did the brave thing and winked at him that caused his eyebrow to raise. I took a sip of the vodka in my cup and turned my attention to my best friend. I could feel his gaze burning into my skin and I knew he was hooked.

"Now my friend, let's dance the night away!" Kayla yelled over the loud music. She took my hand and twirled me around in a circle causing me to break out in laughter. Allowing the the music to take a hold of me. I followed the beat of the song, swaying my hips to it all awhile sipping on the drink in my hand. The taste was becoming better and better as the sips went on.

Ian and Luke were trying to weave through the crowd and somehow made it to the dance floor for a few moments. I was able to introduce them to Kayla who was star struck. I don't blame her. Then they left saying we'll catch up later, but not before I stole Luke's drink. Which he was not happy about, he pouted his whole way off the dance floor.
