"Like, the size of a golf ball. I...could probably sew it closed, but I don't know how to sew."
"I do."
I quirked an eyebrow. "Huh?"
"I know how to sew. It's honestly pretty easy."
"How do you know? Did your mom teach you?"
"Nah. Home Ec class did."
I snickered, and I heard him do the same.
"I can pick you up today, bring you over. Bring your suit along so I can patch it up."
"Sounds good."
Dash says he'll be here in 30 minutes, and we shared brief farewells before hanging up. Now, what should I put my suit in? I can't just bundle it up and tote it along, it can't be seen. So, did I have a bag or something...?
...Oh wait, my backpack. If Auntie asks, I can just say I'm going over to Dash's house to work on homework. Yeah, that works!
I removed some notebooks and a textbook to make room for my suit, putting them all under my bed. I folded my suit up and neatly placed it in, and put in my phone charger as well in case my phone started dying, before zipping it up. Now, to get myself readied up.
30 minutes later, right on time, Dash sent me a message saying he was outside. I gathered my things I headed out of my room. Auntie was in the living room, reading a book when I entered.
"Where you are headed Y/N? Dash's house?" She asked me, curiously looking at my backpack.
"Yeah. We're going to work on homework together." I gripped one of the straps more tightly.
"...Ok." She smiled. "Enjoy yourself."
"I will." Thank goodness that was easy. I took my leave, locking the front door behind me.
~~~
There wasn't anyone downstairs when Dash and I got to his place, but as I followed him upstairs, I heard the family moving about in their respective rooms.
The second Dash opened the door to his room, was when it hit me. I'm...in his room. For the very first time.
I immediately noticed were the few posters on the walls, most depicting a sport such as baseball and track, while one poster looked to be for some type of monster movie.
The next thing was a large shelf off against one wall, that held a ton of trophies and medals draped around them. Most of them were silver, but there were a couple of bronze and gold ones.
Otherwise, Dash's room was pretty standard. There were comic books stacked on his dresser that piqued my curiosity, but there's nothing in here that could've been...surprising.
"Is it ok for me to be in here?" I stood by the door, feeling like I was entering some forbidden zone.
"Yes." The teen answered, rummaging through a drawer in his nightstand. "As long as I keep the door open."
If he says it's ok, I should trust him. I took small steps inside, then stopped by his bed, not knowing if I should sit on it or not. I did take my backpack off and open it, pulling out my suit. Dash apparently found what he was looking for, as he closed the drawer and walked around the other side of his bed to me. He was holding a small, dark brown bag.
"Alright. Lemme see it."
He took my suit from my offered hand, and sat down on his bed. As he unzipped the bag and pulled out a needle and black thread, I awkwardly stood.
