Chapter 16: Extracurricular with Added Benefits

Cammy: "Oh, definitely not. He is genuinely happy here."

Ren: "How can you tell?"

Cammy: "Well, Sam and I have known him for a long time. When you've known him for that long, it becomes easy to see through him. Which is why I'm kind of worried about him."

Weiss: "Why are you worried?"

Cammy: "Right now, he treasures all of you above his life. If you're ever in any danger, he won't hesitate to protect you even if he kills himself, especially you, Ruby."

Pyrrha: "That... sounds unhealthy."

Cammy: "Well, considering he would literally put his life at risk, unhealthy is an understatement."

Just then, Penny, who have been intensely watching Azure and Sam, interrupted their discussion.

Penny: "Everyone, look! They're about to start!" Everyone's attention including me turned to the arena.

Ruby: "You're right! KICK HIS BUTT, AZURE!"

Azure: "Welp, you heard my girlfriend. Ready to get your ass kicked?" He put a cocky face.

Sam: "Right back at you. Don't cry too much after this is over." He gave his own confident face.

Glynda: "Both of you may begin... Now!"

They both pulled their own respective swords. Instead of charging in instantly, there was a tense silence between both of them. Everyone watching swallowed their own spit from how tense it was. The silence was broken when both of them suddenly disappeared from where they were and reappeared in the middle of the arena, locking blades.

They began clashing swords at high speed. Sam was the first one to jump back. He shot multiple plasma beam at Azure. In response, Azure covered his sword in lightning and began deflecting them. A stray shot managed to graze Azure in the arm. He increased his speed and once again disappeared. This time, he reappeared right in front of Sam, delivering a palm strike on his guts, sending him back. He quickly rushed to Sam's back, slashing at him, but Sam was barely able to block in time.

Azure: "Not bad! You're keeping up with me quite well so far."

Sam: "I'm just barely getting started!"

Azure: "Well then, shall we compare the speed of our attack rushes?"

Sam: "Really? A Jojo reference? You really think I'll fall for that? I know you're faster than me."

Azure: "Shut up. You know you love it." Sam smirked once again.

Sam: "...you know, funny thing is, I know you're playing me. But you're right. Let's do this!"

They began clashing at an even higher speed than before, making their hands a blur.
