Zander Thomas, our beta, ran behind me. He was fast but he wasn't as fast as I was. And I was more frustrated than he realized. I needed to run.
Anna needs you, Liam.
I growled at Zander when he said that. I was tired of looking after my siblings and I was tired of all the problems the pack was facing. I realized why Alaine had called me Alpha; I was doing the Alpha's job.
You need to see her, she's sick.
Zander was right. I took a deep breath so I could inhale the fresh air around me before I went back to the hell I called home.
I turned around and followed Zander to our house. I had to see Anna. According to Zander, she had been throwing up all day. And she had locked her door and refused to let anyone in.
After shifting into my human form, I entered the house with Zander beside me. I pulled on a pair of shorts and went upstairs to Anna's room. Zander was following me but I told him it would be better if I went to see Anna alone.
I knocked on her door softly. I wanted to show her that I cared.
"Anna," I said softly, "open the door, please."
The knob turned slowly and she let me in. She looked exhausted, weak and frail.
"Are you okay?"
"Yes," she murmured.
"Don't lie to me,"
"Liam," she said, "I'm pregnant."
I rolled up my fists and inhaled deeply. I was convulsing in anger but it wasn't her fault. It was time to think more rationally than emotionally.
"We have to get rid of this baby," I told her through clenched teeth. Anna looked horrified.
"You can't get rid of my baby!" She yelled, angrily. Her eyes had turned black which showed exactly how mad she was. I knew she would be mad.
"Do you really want to give birth to the child of a traitor?"
I felt the sting of Anna's slap. My wolf was at the point of losing control but I tried to keep myself and my wolf as calm as possible.
"This is my baby!" She said, "How could you even think of murdering it?"
"This kid could be a traitor like it's father!" I told her.
"You can capture Cody and you can murder him and you can ruin my life but I will never let you lay a finger on this baby." She hissed.
"Max will kill you if he finds out!" I told her, "Get rid of it while you can."
"Do you know how hard it is when you lose your mate? And I'm willing to leave him but I need this baby." Anna said. I saw the tears roll down her cheeks and I felt horrible for how distressed she was.
"You're my sister and I'm not gonna let you ruin yourself because of some pup who doesn't exist yet."
"Some-"
"I'm calling the pack doctor and we'll get rid of it by next week." I told her, calmly. I had to remain calm.
Anna growled and shifted into her gray wolf. She pounced on me with all her power and I shoved her aside. I didn't want to fight with her. She fell at the corner of the room and howled in pain but then she got up again. I left the room and locked the door before she could get out.
"Make sure she doesn't harm herself," I told Quentin, James and Patrick as I left.
I went to see Zander who was waiting downstairs. We had to call the pack doctor and discuss the situation with him but with Anna's temper and her Alpha blood, we needed more than one wolf to handle her.
