Chapter 1
"Even my kisses won't stop you from leaving?" Liam said while burying his face on my neck.
I just smiled and placed a gap between us so I can look at him. "Aren't you getting tired of kissing me?" I teased.
"Tired?" he removed his hands from my waist and turned me around to fully look at him. "You must be kidding, considering you only allow me to kiss and hug you."
"What do you expect me to do? I believe in sex after marriage! Marry me Liam, and when we're already married, you can do whatever you want to do with me." I said seductively.
He sighed audibly, "Then what'll happen to those girls who want me, as much as you want me if I already marry you?" He said, cockily.
I frowned from his words. I took my brush from my bag and I started to brush my hair. I ignored him when he hugged me from the back.
"You know I was just kidding. Don't make issues out of it."
"I don't want to think that you have other girls besides me, Liam. And you know that," I seriously told him.
He cleared his throat, "I'm all yours babe."
I spun around him, "Then marry me, Liam." I said pleadingly.
He light up a cigar and leaned on his desk. "We'll talk about that some other time babe. Now is not a very good time. My center is just developing and I'm not yet ready to be proud and present it to you."
"Oh, you know I don't mind that darling. If we get married, I can give you extra capital for your business, with that, you can compete with the biggest slimming centers in the country."
"That's what I don't like to happen, Max." A hint of annoyance is visible in his voice. "I know you've got tons of money, but I don't like people to think that money is the reason why I want to marry you."
I hugged him tightly and buried my face in his chest. This was one of the times when I really wish I'm not rich and just an ordinary employee. I sighed and said, "You and your non-sense ego. If we're already married, my money is your money too. And if I'm going to wait for your gym to become as big as ours, then our hair would be gray by that time."
He laughed lightheartedly. "Don't be so impatient, babe. Why would rush things when we're still young. Especially you, you're just twenty-one and a fresh college graduate. Me, I'm just twenty-eight, just nearly my prime..."
"And the time that you're supposed to have your own family," I said suggestively.
"Alright, Max. Just give me enough time to develop my gym more, maybe in a year or two? Maybe by then, I can finally say that I can support you and give you all the things you want and need without much complaining about how cheap they are."
"You're bargaining," I said, finally looking up at him.
"At least, my business would already be stable by then and people can't say anything about it."
"Oh, Liam. I really love you, that's why I want to marry you. But alright then, a year is okay. At least I'll be holding onto something."
"Good girl." He shuffled my hair, "Now, shall I drive you home?"
"And take a cab back here?" I just shook my head and started to get to the door. "No thanks, I can manage." I gave him one last peck on the lips and continued walking towards the door.
I was now driving back home. Somehow, I felt happy and relieved that Liam made a promise. At least there is something I could look forward to. Time passes by quickly nowadays.
We've been together for a year and a half and I really love him. I can also feel that he feels the same way to me, but his huge ego was getting in the way to our marriage.
I smiled when I thought that my mom and James can't say anything about Liam once his business is stable. They already knew him. They met once when Liam drove me home and mom was about to go somewhere. It was just a short meeting but I noticed that mom doesn't like him that much. But even though I was bothered by it, I still wanted to prove to them that Liam is worth it.
Liam Conner. A handsome brown-haired hottie! He has his own business which is something you can be proud of. It was a slimming center for men and women.
We met at the center when my friends ask me to come with them, even though I was as fit as a model and has the curves at the right places. I still enrolled anyway. Besides, I don't have any other physical exercise other than my frequent swims in our private pool. So I thought, why not?
Many said, I was like a million dollar prize. They said I stand out in the crowd with a height of five feet' seven inches and a beach body model, plus a pretty face which you won't get tired to look at. They also said that I'm smart and classy, sophisticated and rich, making any man who wants me become sweeter than any other, just so they could get me. It was their words, not mine. And I thank them for that.
Maybe Liam is one of those people who were smitten by me--- modesty aside. I'm not any of those bitches who're arrogant and thinks they're the queen of something, I was just really flattered when Liam asked me to be his girlfriend. Since I was attractive to him too, I said, yes!
I knew Liam got a lot of female customers who're jealous of me. I can tell because every time were all over each other, they would shot me a glare. Liam was the main attraction of his gym, that's why he has a lot of female customers who won't even miss a single session just to see him! Lucky for me, I already have him.
Before, I regularly attends the sessions too, but for the past few months, my visits became seldom because James made me assume a position in the company as personnel's assistant because the one who was originally in charge in that position already migrated.
He also said that this is the right time for me to learn how to manage the company--- the Supreme Engineering Corporation.
I was a management graduate and I really want to find a job, but not with the help of James and not in the company as well. I knew my mom won't approve it, and of course, James would second it.
Nice isn't it? NOT!
