When I first heard about the infamous Cole Ryder I didn't think much of him. I didn't fear him like practically everyone at TSS did, and If I'm being completely honest, I thought he was just going to be someone who was temporary on our radar. He sounded harmless to me, but now that I'm standing in his presence, I can see what all the fuss was about.

His whole demeanor is intimidating. The jet black hair, tattoos, and expensive clothes. I can't tell if he's a gang leader or a fucking Calvin Klein model.

Cole crossed his arms, raised an eyebrow, and chuckled humorlessly. "Lucas said he was going to kill who? Me? I'd like to see him try."

"I wouldn't say that if I were you."

He scoffed. "Who were your resources?"

"My cousin."

"He works for frank?"

"Yeah. They're good friends. Frank runs his mouth to my cousin, and my cousin runs his mouth to me."

"What do you get out of telling me this?" He turned to look at Alexander. "Si crees que está mintiendo, mátala."

That dick. He's insulting my intelligence right now. Does he really think I don't know Spanish? They literally force you to take it in high school.

I rolled my eyes. "Oh come on, Cole. You don't want to kill me. I just want to know one thing." I smirked. "Cosa ci vuole per essere parte della banda più cattiva di tutto il mondo?"

Both of the men looked at me.

"What? They practically force you to take Spanish in high school."

Cole completely ignored my comment. Rude. "Depends. What gang are you trying to get in?"

"De La Rosa."

The crew laughed. Just when I thought they were starting to like me. Cole looked at me, slightly amused. "You want to be apart of my gang?"

"Yes."

He gave me another humorless chuckle. "I don't accept girls like you. Go join Steppers más mortales. They'll let you in, but you have to sleep with almost everyone in the gang first, so good luck with that. It was nice meeting you. Now, please get the fuck out my face. I'm tired of talking to you."

Well damn.

"Girls like her?" Jessie asked. Yay! He speaks. "I've heard many things about you Ryder, but I didn't know you discriminate against women."

He looked at Jessie. "You don't fucking know me, dude. Keep my name out your damn mouth."

Jessie raised his hands on defense. "I'm sorry. I didn't know you were that sensitive."

Cole glared at him. "I'm going to tell you one more time. Leave."

If looks could kill me and Jessie would be in hell right now. Ryder looked like he was about to spaz out, but Jessie wasn't done talking to him yet.

"No can do, buddy. I really need to join De La Rosa. What does it take?"

"Need? You come here, disrespect me in front of my crew and now you're telling me about what you need?" He turned to Alexander. "This guy is pathetic. I want them both dea—"

"Our mother left me and Jessica on our own eight months ago." Jessie cut him off. "We've been barley surviving ever since. I've tried to get a job plenty of times, but because of my criminal record, I keep getting denied." Jessie lied smoothly, even I almost believed him, but why does my name have to be Jessica? That sounds lame. I was thinking maybe a Natasha or something.

Cole didn't even look slightly sympathetic. "How old are you?"

"I'm eighteen and Jessica is seventeen."

"This doesn't seem like my problem."

I rolled my eyes. Gang leaders are so rude. "Please, we gave you information. Help us out, and I'll give you Frank's entire playbook."

"Do you have any loyalty to your cousin? If you can betray your family so easily how can I trust that you won't do the same to me?" He questioned.

"My cousin is a dick. I have no respect for him."

"And you have respect for me?"

"Mostly."

He chuckled. "I've recently had people trying to take my empire from me, did your research tell you that? Moles are crawling out from their little holes, trying to terminate my family's name, and send me to prison. It's hurtful, but true. One thing you should know about me is that I really don't like Moles. After you kill them, they leave a bad smell. One that is intoxicating, one that I can never truly get rid of."

I raised an eyebrow. He's testing me. I know it.

"I'm no Mole."

"Good."

"So does that mean we're in?" I asked hesitantly.

It can't be this easy. There's got to be a catch. Cole Ryder is full of surprises, at least that's what I heard.

"If you want to be apart of my gang, you have to prove your worth."

I looked up at the ruthless gang leader, cautiously. He sat there, arms crossed, lips pursed, and face resembling one of a statue.

"What do I have to do?"

He smirked devilishly. "I want you to kill Frank Lucas."

My eyes widened as I glanced at Jessie. His expression mimicked mine.

Well . . . I was not expecting that . . .
