I rested my head against his bare chest. I could hear his heart beat and I could feel his chest rise and fall with every breath he took. And it made me feel warm and fuzzy inside.
Michael opened his eyes and rubbed them sleepily.
"You're awake already," he said, "I was hoping to wake up before you."
"I've been awake for an hour now," I told him with a little grin.
"Why didn't you wake me up?"
"You looked so peaceful."
"Well, I have to go now so no more peace." He climbed out of bed with a sigh and stretched.
"Where?" I propped myself up on one arm.
"It's just that there have been disputes within the pack and I need to address some issues." He said.
"What issues?" I asked him.
"We can discuss it when I get back." He replied, calmly.
"Why not now?" I realized that it was too soon so ask him to trust me with pack issues. And, to be honest, I wasn't ready for it either. There was too much on my mind with Cody gone.
"Cori will stay with you while I'm gone," he said, "but I'll be back by seven o'clock so you won't have to wait that long."
"What issues are you talking about?" I climbed out of bed and went to stand behind him. I had a weird feeling in my stomach.
He turned around, wrapped his arms around my waist and picked me up so he could look me in the eyes. His piercing blue gaze unnerved me. The butterflies in my stomach were somersaulting.
"Your heart is beating very fast." He whispered.
"I know,"
"So is mine," he pressed his lips against mine in a brief kiss.
"Weren't you in a hurry?" I asked.
"I am," he said and put me back down instantly. His eyes had suddenly turned dark and his expression was serene; thoughtful. He walked into the closet and shut the door behind him.
Sighing, I fell back into bed. I would just have to wait till he got back to find out what was going on.

Cori had asked Eleanor to make some pancakes for me but I didn't really feel hungry when I came downstairs. I had an awful feeling in my gut. My wolf kept telling me that something was wrong.
"Are you feeling okay?" Cori asked me, worriedly.
"I'm okay," I told her but she didn't seem to believe me.
"You know you can talk to me about anything , right?" She assured me.
"Yes and I'm glad about that, Cori," I smiled.
"Would you like to do something?" She asked. She was probably trying to get my mind off things.
"What is there to do?"
"We could watch a movie or something,"
"Which one?" I asked. I wasn't really in the mood for watching a movie but it was better doing that than constantly pondering over Michael and the 'issues' he was talking about.
"Alpha Titus has an amazing collection of movies," she told me, "you have no idea how much he loves them."
I felt something stir inside me when Cori told me that. My wolf felt envious that another wolf knew about his interests and we didn't.
