Chapter 16:

“You sure your parents would be ok with this?” Elena looks at me with eyes of concern as she takes her seat right next to me.

I nod, scoffing. “Yeah, they probably won’t even notice I’m not at school,” I’m pretty sure their intention was to leave me at Astarte for the rest of my life.

“The question is will your parents mind me staying at your place for the whole summer?” I turn to ask her.

Her response was a cute little ‘I don’t care’ type of shrug. “My parents would be ecstatic that I’m finally making friends.”

Now that was surprising. I always thought someone as perfect as Elena would always be making friends regardless of where she went.

“Nobody saw me in that sense,” Elena responded the thoughts in my head. “all perfect and pretty.”

She knows me too well sometimes. I let out a sigh as I snapped my seatbelt around me with a soft click. “I have a real hard time believing that.”

“It doesn’t matter now though.” Her arms wrap around my neck so my head turns to see her chin resting against my shoulder. “That’s all in the past,” her lips brush against my nose. “I love you,”

Oh God, here comes the blush. I don’t think I’ve gone more than five minutes without blushing since Elena and I got back together. She was just too cute.

“I love you more,” I plant a hard kiss on her forehead.

An argument ensues as Elena and I fight about who loved the other more. Obviously I would win. My love would go to hell’s end and back just for her. But she seemed just as sure hers would as well.

“Excuse me miss.” Our heads snap up to see a stewardess hovering over us. A very young looking stewardess I might add. Still, she’s got nothing on my Elena. “We will be taking off soon so if you can sit back and relax that’d be great,”

I send one of my ‘fabulous’ fake smiles her direction, pushing Elena off of me since she was almost literally sitting in my lap. “Of course. Sorry about that miss,” I bat my eyes to give a more nice effect and it works because the stewardess simply huffs irritated before walking off to take care of another passenger.

I turn back to give Elena a look but her eyes are elsewhere. It was then that I decided to take a look around me as well. Most people had taken their seats as we were going to take off in a few minutes anyways so it was perfectly normal. The weird thing is though that everyone and I do mean everyone, had their eyes glued to us, a range of reactions spreading across each of their faces. But I think most of them looked either amused by Elena and my moment or they looked plain disgusted, eyes narrowing as their face twisted into a scowl. Whatever, they can all go die in a hole somewhere far away

The plane moved with a jerk, almost sending me plummeting forward headfirst into the seat in front of me if it wasn’t for Elena’s arm around my waist stopping me.

“There’s a reason there’s a seatbelt my dear,” she sends me an endearing wink as a taunting smile flits across her face.

“Shut up,” I mumble, feeling my cheeks turning red once again as I snap the seatbelt around me. I don’t even know what I was blushing from: the embarrassment of me almost cracking my head against the chair in front of me or the adorableness literally radiating off Elena. I think maybe a little bit of both.
