I decide that casual dress is my best option, seeing as I don't have any other style. I pick out my black skinny jeans, a black singlet and a transparent lace top. I top it off with a deep blue cardie that covers my wrist, incase my mark is as different as I suspect. I don't need to stand out anymore then I will, being new and a 'late bloomer' and all, I'll probably get mocked for it. Oh well, I've been through worse. I slip on my black chuck taylors, pack the lunch Mum made me and take a bit of my own pocket money so that I can buy something if it looks good, although knowing Mum shes probabky packed an amazing lunch for me . A care outside beeps its horn at me just as I'm finishing my breakfast, so I chuck my bowl in the sink and yell a quick goodbye to mum before heading to the car where Kristy and Eden wait for me with the door open. "Come on, loser, we're gonna be late" Eden yells as I shut the front door behind me. "I'm coming, I'm coming" I yell back, racing down the front steps to the colbat blue Kombi waiting on the street. "Sorry" I apologise "I had.. something mum needed to show me" I say as I offer them a weak smile. "Don't worry about it" Eden says and gathers me in a massive hug, squealing.  "I can't believe your finally one of us!" She squeaks directly in my ear. We've been friends for so long that I'm surprised I'm not deaf yet. Eden is slightly taller then me with light blonde hair and blue eyes that are always lined with black, constantly wearing dark colours.
"Yeah, me either. I'm glad that you can finally be honest about everything with me. No secrets."
"No secrets." She promises.
"So" Kristy calls from the front as she drives us along the road to Rileys house. I hadn't even realised that the car had started moving. "Show us your mark."
Self consciously I pull my cardie sleeve down to my palms.
"Oh come on Tali, give us peak." Eden says as she reaches for my wrist. Instinctively I pull away, knowing full well that my mark is different, not the same. Everyones is the same until they join a pack, in which it will morf into whatever the sign of that pack is. But the difference between my mark and everyone elses? Mines gold. Gold. And everyone else who is undecided has silver. I never had time to ask Mum this morning, but I know for a fact that this, this will make me stand out. And thats exactly what I hope to avoid. But as I pull my arm away, she uses her well refined reflexes to snatch it out of the air anyway, and pulls my sleeve up to my elbow. As she flips my wrist over, she gasps in surprise and peers closer, almost touching my hand with her face. "Wholy Jesus, Kristy look!"
A sarcastic "Eden, I'm driving" comes from the front but Eden doesn't hear it. She's too busy looking at my mark. Suddenly the van is slowing and I hear a muffled "Hay bitch haay!" which signals the arrival of Riley.

The sliding door if the Kombi opens to reveal my short light brown haired best friend. He looks at me with his warm brown eyes and smiles. "Kataliya! Oh its been so long!" He pulls me into a big hug and whispers in my ear "I'm never letting go" as he squeezes me tighter and I laugh and squeeze him back, glad Eden has momentarily forgotten about my mark, but I know I'll have to tell them at lunch. There's no escaping it Once Kristy starts the car he sits back and lounges in his seat. "Your outfit is amazing by the way" he comments, giving my the up and down. "As do you." I comment, giving him a wink. "Oh stop flirting you two." Eden says, giving us a glare. "Aww, is poor Eden missing out?" I say in a mocking baby voice. "Oh noo! We can't have that!" Riley exclaims. Riley and I look at each other for a moment, while in the background I hear Eden going "Oh no, oh no." My lips curl into an evil grin, and suddenly we leap at her, cuddling her whilst saying "Is that better? Do you feel included yet?" And all of us are laughing. I laugh so hard my stomach begins to ache, but then the car comes to a stop and we all compose ourselves before opening the door and entering my new school. Or my new prison. What it is all depends on this day. I hope I don't stuff up.

I exit the Kombi last, hoping, praying, that I don't stuff up. Kristy comes to my side and puts her arm on my shoulder. "You'll be fine, don't worry. Everyones first day is nerve wracking, but you'll survive. Come on, I'll take you to the office" she says as she starts pulling my towards the reception area. Riley and Eden wave goodbye and head into the main building where the rest of the students are filling into their classes. A plump middle aged lady sits at the reception desk, tapping away at the keyboard with chubby little fingers. She looks up as we arrive and smiles warmly."Hi, you must be Kataliya. Welcome to Southland Private School, I know you'll fit right in." She gives me a wink and hands me my timetable. "You have Miss Holiday first period for history. Don't worry, she's one of the nice ones." she gives me a little wink and tells me to have a nice day. As me and Kristy head out, she compares my timetable with hers. "Oh sweet, we have science together, and you have mythical beings study with Riley. Well, I better go before I'm late, Bye! Have an awesome day!" She yells as she walks towards the left side of the biulding. I look at my timetable and decide the best way to find my room is to follow the classrooms from 1 to 32 - my room - which shouldn't be to hard. Room 1, Room 2, Room 3, Room - Omph. I've walked something and dropped my history book and the book I'm currently half way through - Obsidian. Its amazing-  and bend to pick them up when I realise that I haven't walked into something, but someone. "Oh! Sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going. My bad." I bend to pick up my books but he's bet me to it. I gratefully take my books and say thank you, but when I looked up, I saw the most gorgous boy I have ever seen. He has light blonde hair and wholy crap. Yellow eyes. He grins at me, his smile is perfect by the way, and his teeth are - SHARP? I suddenly notice the other people around me laughing quietly, they must have seen me staring in shock. He's messing with me. He must know I'm new. What, an, arse. "Are you alright there?" He asks. "I'm fine, thank you." I say curtly. "Now if your done trying to embarrass me, then I don't suppose you would mind getting out of the way? Thanks." I say, not waiting for an answer, and push past him and in to the next part of the building.  23, 24, I can't believe he would do that, on my first day. Couldn't he have cut me some slack? What a jerk. As I pass down the corridor, another student, pale and pretty, bares her teeth at me and hisses. Hisses. Damm Vamps. I swear, in this school I'm surrounded by freaks.
