Chapter 2: Hogwarts

10.8K 332 536

I shift uncomfortably in my seat.

All three of them were just sitting there staring at me.

I cough a little and then clear my throat.

"So, what are your names?" I smile and ask politely.

"I'm Hermione." she smiles back at me. I think I'll like her, as long as she's not a smart-aleck all the time.

"Ron Weasley." He leans over and gives me a hug.

Someone's a bit up close and personal today.....

I blush from fact that a guy my age, that isn't related to me, is hugging me.

I don't think I've ever had this much physical contact someone who isn't related to me... or my godfather.

"N-nice to meet you Ron, Hermione." I smile shyly at then once more.

"So, what have I missed the last two years?" I ask them.

Their eyes all lit up with excitement and started all speaking at once.

"One at a time please." I chuckle at them.

"Ok, so here's what you missed...."
Harry basically told me everything from the zoo, to Dobby, to blowing up his-I mean our aunt and the knight bus.

By the time he finished, he was out of breath and we were at Hogwarts.

We got off the train together, and Uncle Remus helped me with my trunk.

The trio, Remus, and I said our goodbyes as we went our separate ways.

Me to the boats, the trio to the carriages, and Uncle Remus was who knows where.

He just said, "see you later kiddo" and then left me with Hagrid.

Best legal guardian ever...

I sat in the boat with Hagrid, seeing as I don't know anyone else and I'm two years older.

As soon as the castle came into view many gasps and mummers were heard from all around.

I unintentionally sighed in awe too.

I mean Hogwarts was, well, beautiful! It was.....majestic.

I couldn't take my eyes off of the intriguing structure.

Woah, the Hogwarts castle has got to be the most magnificent thing I've ever laid my eyes on.

Some stupid kid, I'm pretty sure his name was Dennis, or something like that, fell into the lake.

His friend helped him back into their boat.

Luckily, we were only a meter or two from land, where the water was pretty shallow, so he couldn't have drowned.

Someone's a bit excited...

Don't get me wrong, I am too, just not that excited.....

When we got out of the boats, Hagrid wraps the small, shivering, wet, boy in his large moleskin coat.

We got up to the entrance hall when we were stopped by an old lady in green.

She gave us some boring speech about Hogwarts and then lead us to the great hall that held all of the students and staff at the moment.

The students were separated into four different tables, each representing a house.

Slytherin, for the sly and cunning.

Ravenclaw, for the witty and intelligent.

Hufflepuff, for the kind and loyal.

And Gryffindor, for the brave and courageous.
