On Sunday night, Stephenie decided she was going to Mikes house. It would be better to at least be friends with the boys seeming as she was going to be spending a lot more time with them now that she was in the AV Club. She also wanted to see Will, though she'd never admit it. Stephenie could hear Steve in the bathroom downstairs— singing Talking In Your Sleep by The Romantics that was playing on his radio. she walked down the stairs and she opened the front door, turning her head towards the bathroom—

"I'm leaving!" She yelled before slamming the door, and going to the garage to grab her bike.

Stephenie biked over to Mikes house, that wasn't to far from hers and went to the door of their basement, she didn't want to see Mikes Mom— or Nancy for that matter. Stephenie knocked on the door twice and she saw Mikes face peak through the window and see her, and he unlocked the door for her.

"Hi" Mike said

"Hey" Stephenie walked in, "sorry about not using your front door but I didn't think you wanted your mom to know I was here" Stephenie told him, while walking over to the small table three of them sat around

"No it's fine"

"So.... this Dungeons and Dragons thing? You actually take this like seriously?" Stephenie asked and Dustin nodded

"We can teach you if you want" Mike said

"That's fine, I'll watch. I'm actually interested to see how this all goes" Stephenie circled her hand towards the table, before sitting next to the Pizza

"Somethings coming. Something hungry for blood" Mike said "a shadow grows on the wall behind you, swallowing you in darkness. It is almost here" Stephenie watched as she sat on the arm of the couch

"What is it?" Will asked

"What if It's the demogorgon? Oh Jesus were so screwed if it's the demogorgon" dustin said

"It's not the demogorgon"

"An army of Troglodytes charge into the chamber" Mike said slamming down game peices on the table
"Troglodytes"
"Told you" Lucas said and the boys giggled

"What a minute... do you hear that?" Mike asked "that... that sound..... boom....boom, boom!" Mike slammed his hand in the table, making Stephenie jump the slightest bit
"That didn't come from the Troglodytes. That came from something else" Mike said with a pause "the Demogorgon!" Mike put the peice of the table and the three boys groaned
"We're in deep shit"

"Will your action!" Mike said
"I don't know" Will panicked
"Fire ball him!"
"I have to roll a thirteen or higher!"
"To risky, cast a protection spell" Dustin said
"Don't be a pussy, fireball him!"
"Cast protection" Will looked over to Stephenie frantically as if asking what to do but she just shrugged and when she went to talk Mike slammed his hand on the table once again making them turn back to him

"The demogorgon is tired of your silly human bikering! It stomped towards you. Boom! Boom!"
"Fireball him!"
"Cast protection!"

Will grabbed the dice frantically as everyone was screaming. It strongly reminded her of when her parents were home more often and they would do family game night every once in a while.

"Fireball!" Will yelled as he tossed the dice onto the table, but it had fell onto the ground
"Where did it go?"
"I don't know!"
"Is it a thirteen?" Dustin asked
"I don't know!

Stephenie stood up and went to go help look for the dice— now she wanted to know what the dice number was.

"Did you find it yet?" The boys were yelling, before the basement door opened and Stephenie hid herself
"Mike!" Mikes Mom yelled down the stairs
"Mom, were in the middle of a campaign"
"You mean the end? Fifteen after"

Stephenie made sure Mikes mom wasn't their before she helped look again
"Oh I got it!" Will yelled "does the seven count?" He asked
"It was a seven?" Dustin asked and Will nodded

"Did Mike see it?" Will shook his head no
"Than it doesn't count" Lucas said before they all got their coats on
"Hey guys" dustin said holding the pizza box
"Does anyone want the last peice?" They all shook their heads
"No" they said in sync before going up the stairs

Stephenie stayed hidden as she walked through the house in between Will and Lucas, Mikes mom or dad hadn't been paying attention at all.

Dustin came out the door eating the last piece of pizza in his hand
"There's something wrong with your sister" Dustin said to Mike
"What are you talking about?"
"She's got a stick up her butt"
"Yeah, it's because she's been dating that douche bag Steve Harrington—no offence Stephenie" Lucas said
"None takin" she said

"She's turned into a real jerk"
"She's always been a jerk"
"Maybe, Steve might have helped though" Stephenie said as she picked up her bike from the ground

"But that time she dressed up for our campaign"
"Four years ago!" Mike yelled
"Just sayin"
"Later" They watched dustin and Lucas raced off giggling

"It was a seven" Will said referring to the number he rolled on the dice
"What" Mike said, confused
"The number. It was a seven. The demegorgan, it got me"
"Bye guys" Stephenie said with a genuine smile on her face. She hadn't hung out with a big group of people in a while.
"Bye Stephenie" Mike said

When Stephenie got home she was greeted by load music for a moment before it stopped— and Steve came towards her and she rolled her eyes.

"Where the hell were you?" Steve asked with slight worry in his voice, but more annoyance.

"At the friends house" Stephenie said, pushing past him to go to the kitchen

"What friends?" Steve followed her

"Mikes" she muttered

"Wheeler?"

"Yes" Stephenie said getting out her favorite grape juice

"Why where you at the Wheelers? did you see Nancy? Did she say anything about me?" Steve questioned her

"We are working on a stupid project and No" Stephenie grabbed her cup of juice and went up to her room before Steve could say something else.

Little did Stephenie know that things would change and there was a creature out there hungry for blood.

And it would change everything.
