3. The Maze Issue

Start from the beginning

I knew it was Newt behind me,

I ignored it,

I kept trying to retrieve the spear,

"...(Y/N)..."

I again tried to pull the spear, hard this time, and I could feel tears prick at my eyes,

"...(Y/N) stop..."

Newt went to grab my hand from digging into the spear,

I whipped around,

"NO!! I'll never stop till each and every one of us is out of here!! I won't stop till the last shucking creator is burried 50 feet under!!"

I was breathing really hard now and Newt had his hands up in surrender, his eyes tired and sad...

"...I know..."

He went to the tree and with my help we managed to pull the spear from it,

"But we can all help each other. You don't have to do this alone ok?"

I nodded and he gave me a hug,

I breathed out a sigh,

"Thanks Newt you're the best..."

I smiled over his shoulder as he ducked his head into my neck,

"Don't worry (Y/N) I've got you."

I smiled, and let him go,

"Alright enough sappy stuff... Let's go before I literally squeeze the life out of you for being too adorable."

I placed both of my hands on his cheeks, with a cheesy over done grin at him,

Newt's cheeks flushed red and he chuckled,

"Alright come on. "

He slung an arm around my shoulders and I did the same to him,

We both walked back to our hammocks, the sun was setting and everyone was tucking in for the night,

"Night."

"Goodnight Newt."

I gave him one last hug and headed towards the Med-Jacks hut to get my hands fixed up.

The next morning I woke up pretty early and headed to breakfast at Frypans area,

"Morning (Y/N)!! You're up early?"

I nodded,

"Yeah. I couldn't sleep last night..."

Ben's face flashed in my mind but I pushed it out,

Frypan nodded,

"Yeah me to. I've been up for a couple of hours... just cooking..."

"Well it all smells great!"

I said and he smiled,

"Here."

He dumped some bacon and toast with last night's stew onto a plate then handed it to me,

"Enjoy. And uh don't tell Minho I gave you some of his bacon."

He gave me a joking wink which I laughed at,

"Thanks Fry."

I sat down by myself,

When I was on my third drink of water-y coffee, Minho and a few of the runners came and sat by me,

We all chatted and Minho told me that Alby was going with them into the maze that day,
