Okay let's get this adventure started with Cobalt setting foot into his new position as the Commander of Azur Lane! Who will he meet? Will the Ship Girls accept him?

Cobalt McAllister woke up with a jolt as he had once again suffered another night of nightmares of his childhood. The young Naval Captain rolled out of his bed before heading over to his dresser and started to get dressed for the day. Cobalt draped his coat over his shoulders as he exited his bedroom and heading towards the cafeteria. Cobalt grabbed a tray and loaded it up with food before taking a seat at a table by himself. The rest of the inhabitants of the cafeteria refused to approach Cobalt, either out of fear or distaste for the young Naval Captain.
Cobalt didn't mind being alone, in fact he preferred it over interacting with other people. Cobalt didn't hate other people, far from it, he was just really bad in social settings. "I see your still sitting all by your lonesome knucklehead!" The gruff voice an old man boomed through the cafeteria as everyone froze at the newest arrival to the cafeteria. Cobalt turned to see that his teacher and parental figure, Admiral McAllister approaching him with a smug grin plastered across his face.

"Admiral, what do you need of me sir?" Cobalt said as he immediately stood at attention of his commanding officer and parental figure

"Admiral, what do you need of me sir?" Cobalt said as he immediately stood at attention of his commanding officer and parental figure. "How many times have I told you to cut that formal crap out with me?! Last time I checked I practically raised you!" Admiral McAllister shouted as he punched the top of Cobalt's head, causing Cobalt's head to slam into the table. Admiral let out a booming laugh as Cobalt got back up and immediately aimed a round house kick at the Admiral's head.
The Admiral caught Cobalt's leg as everyone else in the cafeteria ran out as fast as they could before they could get caught between the battle of the Admiral and Captain. The Admiral let out another booming laugh before finally taking a seat at the table before smiling at Cobalt. "Now that the rest of those idiots are out of the room, let's get down to business shall we?" Admiral McAllister said as he gestured to the chair across from him so Cobalt would sit down. "Is this about that new mission you have for me Admiral?" Cobalt asked as he sat down.
"Yes, but I think promotion would be a more accurate description of what I have planned for you!" The Admiral said with another laugh as Cobalt gave him a confused look. "I'm assuming you already know about the Siren threat the earth is facing correct?" Admiral McAllister asked as Cobalt nodded his head. "Of course, who in the Navy hasn't heard about the alien threat?" Cobalt said in a somewhat snarky tone that he would only use with the Admiral. "I thought so, then you also know about retired Naval vessels being turned into girls that are the best chance for humanity's survival?" Admiral asked even though he already knew the answer Cobalt would give.
Cobalt heard about how battleships from the Eagle Union, Royal Navy, Ironbloods, and the Sakura Empire had a multitude of their battleships turned into girls. "Yes I also heard about that, though I will admit it's a little strange." Cobalt said as the Admiral smile grew even bigger. "Well they have formed an alliance and have formed a new Naval base by the name of Azur Lane. For the most part they're ready, but they still need a Commander." The Admiral said as Cobalt finally caught on to what his new assignment was. "You want me to be the Commander of the Naval force that is humanity's best chance at defeating the Sirens?" Cobalt asked in complete disbelief at the idea.
Cobalt could not believe the old man was actually even entertaining the thought of making him Azur Lane's Commander, did he forget how bad he is in social settings? "Are you out of your mind old man?! Me the Commander of a Naval base?! You know how I do around people!" Cobalt shouted in anger as Admiral McAllister laughed at his reaction. "You many not be the best at talking to people, but think of this as way to better yourself, plus you are the best Naval Tactician I've ever seen Cobalt." The Admiral said with a fatherly love present in his voice. Cobalt sighed as he knew there was no arguing with the old man, so he would just have to accept his new promotion with dignity.
Cobalt was currently being driven to the Azur Lane Naval base by one Admiral McAllister's personal drivers. "That stubborn old man just loves to push me off the cliff that is my comfort zone!" Cobalt thought to himself as he stared out the window as he tried to calm himself down before he had to greet some of his soldiers that would be meeting him at the entrance. The car stopped in front of the gate to the Azur Lane Naval base as Cobalt got out while putting his cap on his head. "Hello there! You must be the new Commander, correct?" Cobalt turned to see a girl with long white hair approach him.
