Hey guys! I know I haven't been writing all that often, but I've been dealing with a ton of things in my life. There were too many things to fix that I never really got the chance to write for a while. I won't make any promises like I'm going to update a lot more now and whatnot because let's face it, the luck that I have is bullpoopy. So all I can promise is that I can try my best to write as often as I can.

Thank you for being patient with me and sticking with me to the end. I wubbles you all <3

Chapter 26

(Alan's POV)

Yawning, I slipped my time card into the machine and headed to my office down at the clinic earlier than usual. The nurse by the front lobby desk waved me in greeting and I reciprocated with my own shy wave.

Now I know what you all are thinking: what happened after the whole park scene between me and Chase? Well, the two of us with Shadow and Mochi following behind us went over to a pet-friendly cafe. We had a lovely lunch on one of the intricately decorated iron table sets outside on the balcony of the cafe, enjoying the cool weather and the wonderful food. Then all of us went over to the beach, one of hands gripping Chase's, the other holding my shoes as we walked along the shoreline. The slightly cracked, but perfect in my eyes sand-dollar Chase picked up for me sat on my desk in between the portrait of Aunt Claire and my parents.

I know, I'm so cheesy, but I've never been so content for so long until now. Even when I was with Jack, there was something pulling me back from making a complete emotional free fall. An I have to say, I'm relieved that I didn't fully invest my heart and soul into that nuclear bomb, or I wouldn't have survived long enough to even think of going back into the dating business.

After the beach, we headed back to my place, where Chase and I sat on the couch, his head using my thighs as a pillow as we watched reruns of Supernatural. I was blushing the entire time, considering how he would nuzzle my thigh or poke my bum at random times, causing an involuntary squeak of surprise to escape my lips. He would laugh every time and I would respond with a small pout of annoyance, but secretly enjoy the playfulness. After a few hours of lazing around, Ian came home from school, greeting Chase and I as if he wasn't surprised that there's a visitor and we all sat down to eat some light snacks I prepared in the kitchen, Chase chatting with Ian about everyday topics like school, his well-being, etc.

At around five, Chase left, not before abruptly yanking me into his embrace and leaving me breathless with the tantalizing kiss that turned my body into a jellyfish.

I blushed at the memory of the kiss. Is it just me or are his kisses so much better than when we were high schoolers? But I'm not all that surprised. It has been close to a decade and he's bound to have had some lovers over the years. He is VERY easy on the eyes after all. And with the way he carries himself full of confidence as well as the size of his bank account, it's almost impossible to think that he was never with someone else during our years of separation.

The very thought dampened my mood, but why should i really care? I mean, I also had a lover, who turned out to be a backstabbing, cheating turd ass. Excuse my language, but that was one lover. How many did he have? Five? Ten? In the three digit zone? I remember hearing rumors, which turned out to be true, about the many chicks who rode his pink bull back in high school, but that was before we got together. It wouldn't be difficult for him to find someone to play with his wand of whimsy.

I mentally shook my head. Stop with the negativity already. You just got back into a romantic relationship yesterday, don't screw it up with assumptions and past memories. As you said and seen way before, he's a changed man. He isn't the immature teenager that broke your heart in the past, but the mature adult of the present who you haven't been with long enough for you to call judgment on so quickly.
