"Jonny I know the odds probably aren't in our favor but can you check to see if your cell phone works?" Zach asked. He unzipped his pocket and pulled his phone out. It didn't even turn on. "Damn" Zach muttered. Jonny swept his dark hair back. "It's so crazy that this is how the trip ended up". The older Mitchell looked at Jonny. "I just wanted Gray to have the best experience, yet you got hurt in the process. I feel awful I'm so sorry." Jonny couldn't believe his ears. An apology? From Zach Mitchell? That's about as common as the winning lottery ticket. He looked at Zach's puppy dog face. "I'm not mad Zach. I'm right here and I'm fine. I could've been Dino-chow but you wouldn't let that happen to me and clearly it didn't. I'd rather have a few cuts than having my legs be crushed into powder."
Their Moment was interrupted by the sound of Gray hyperventilating. He picked up a utility worker's construction hat, covered in blood. Zach snatched it out of his hands. Jonny put his hand on the boys shoulder. He was shaking badly. Zach looked up ahead to see a mangled 4x4 wrapped around a tree. "Someone's been here. We might be closer to the park now" Jonny said. Zach approached the 4x4, looking around to make sure there were no more hungry dinosaurs wandering about. Til it hit him.
He looked up, realizing there was an abandoned building standing before him. It was obviously huge with a broken-up staircase, covered in thick leaves, vines and moss. Gray clung to Zach's arm. The boys stood in front of the entrance, pushing on the massive doors. They creaked and swung open. Inside was a massive room. Bits of a large dinosaur skeleton, staircase and banner laid on the floor. "Zach I think these are the ruins of the original Jurassic Park from the 90's. Doesn't it resemble the Innovation Center to you?" Jonny shivered. "I think you're right." He agreed, picking up one of the bigger bones off the ground.
"Gray, do you still have those matches?" Zach asked. Gray unzipped his pouch handing his brother the matches. Jonny helped wrap part of the banner around the fossil. They lit their makeshift torch aflame and continued to navigate the Ruins. "Definitely the original Center Jonny" Zach said pointing to a Velociraptor mural on the wall. Gray picked up a set of yellow night vision goggles. Zach and Jonny found another room. "Gray!" They called. "No way" Jonny gasped. "1992 Jeep Wrangler Sahara. Sand Beige". There was the original fleet of Jurassic Park Jeeps, covered in 2 decades worth of dust and leaves. Vines dangled from the ceiling. The room smelled of old oil and gasoline. "You think you could get one of them started?" Zach asked. "I'm gonna try to. Gray hand me that torch" he said as he unclasped the hood-pins. "Engine doesn't have any particular damage. Is the key in there?" Jonny asked. "Yeah in the cup holder" Gray replied. "Try turning it over" Jonny said. "Batteries dead. Zach can you get that battery from the 4x4 outside? If I can hook that up it should allow it to run. I'm gonna have to change that flat in the rear too and fill it with any left over gasoline I can find." Zach nodded and took Gray outside with him.
"He's so hot when he's working on cars" Zach thought to himself. He found it so attractive that he knew anything and everything. As the brothers began removing the battery from the 4x4 they heard rustling in the bushes nearby. "Think it's out there?" Zach turned to Gray who had a look of fear written all over his face. "I know for a fact it's definitely not out there. Totally safe. Here take this" He said handing Gray the Kawasaki Battery. "You're stronger than me". Gray grabbed the battery and smiled. Zach went back inside to check on Jonny. He stood up from changing the flat and walked back towards the front of the Jeep. The boys both smiled at each other. Jonny topped off the fuel and bent over the engine bay to pick out any remaining leaves so it doesn't get caught in the radiator. He felt Zach staring at him from behind. "See something you like" he teased as he turned around. Zach's face reddened for a second, biting his lip. He grabbed Jonny's neck gently, planting his cherry lips on his. The kiss was fueled by passion. They've both been wanting this so badly. Zach slowly pulled away. "Yeah. You." Jonny grinned and leaned back in for another kiss. Their tongues battled for dominance.
Gray cleared his throat as he walked back in the room. The boys separated quickly. "It's about time you two got together but I'd like to get out of here before we get eaten" He sassed. Zach and Jonny just laughed at one another. Zach threw his jacket on the floor. Jonny installed the battery and the Jeep turned over. "Yes!" Gray cheered. "Alright move to the back, we need the worlds best driver to get us out of here" Zach complimented. Jonny tried not to blush. "Just like old times" he laughed. Jonny put the Jeep in gear, flooring it out of the garage. They followed the trail through the jungle in hopes that this would bring them back to the park. Back to Aunt Claire. Back to safety.
