Chapter 12: Feelings

Ruby: "Azure..."

Azure: "Hmm? What is it, Petals?"

Ruby: "Can you still help me study? There're still some things I don't understand."

Azure: "Sure, I don't mind." She smiled at me and laid down on my futon with her books. "Right here?"

Ruby: "Yup! You already look comfortable and I don't want to ruin it!"

Azure: "Hehe, okay then."

After 30 minutes of studying, Ruby began to get frustrated at herself for not getting it.

Ruby: "Awww... at this rate I'm gonna fail!"

Azure: "Calm down, Petals. You won't get anywhere if you keep getting angry."

Ruby: "But it's so difficult!"

Azure: "Hmm... then how about I give you some motivation?"

Ruby: "Hmm?"

Azure: "If you pass, I'll do anything you want for one day."

Ruby: "Really?!" Her eyes sparkled with glee.

Azure: "But if you fail... I'll confiscate your cookie stash and eat it myself." Ruby's eyes widened.

Ruby: "What?! Not my cookies!"

Azure: "Hehehe... then you better pass."

Ruby: "Fine! For the cookies!"

Ruby, now more determined than ever, continued her studies. After a while, she began dozing off, clearly tired from all the studying. She dropped her head and I looked at her to find her asleep. She then hugged me tightly like a pillow.

Ruby: "So... warm... so... comfy..."

I tried getting her off me. Keyword, tried, as her hug just got tighter every time I tried to pry her off. I sighed, and just laid down and wrapped an arm around her. I felt her snuggle into me more when I did so. As I fell asleep though, I kept dreading what will happen to me when Yang finds out.

*SNAP*

That was the first sound I heard when I woke up. I opened my eyes to see Yang already wearing her uniform with a smirk holding a camera. I looked around to see Blake and Weiss already awake and also in their uniform. I blinked and slowly remembered what happened yesterday as I looked down to see Ruby still sleeping while hugging me with a smile. I looked back at Yang concerned at what she might do to me.

Azure: "Yang, what are you doing?"

Yang: "I'm just taking picture of this adorable sight!"

Okay, not the worst thing that could happen. It's better than getting beat up by her.

Yang: "And then I'll send them to dad!"

Crap, nevermind, I'm dead.

Azure: "Uh, you know he'll kill me, right?"

Yang: "Nah, he won't. He'll probably just beat you 'til you're almost dead."

That doesn't inspire confidence in me.

Yang: "Relax, I'm just messing with you. I won't send these to dad, yet." I sighed in relief.

Azure: "Thank God, wait, what do you mean 'yet'?!"

Yang: "Nevermind that. Now go wake up Ruby. We have a test to either ace or crash and burn."

I sighed, letting it slide for now. I tried waking up Ruby but she just cuddled more into me with a smile and a bit of drool coming out of her mouth. I tried shaking her but all I got from her was some mumbles of protest.
