I have spent so much time
Wanting to rid the world of my body,
That now that I finally wish to live
My brain does not know how to.
It's almost like I am
Telling my toes to wiggle
After losing feeling in my legs,
And staring at their motionlessness.
It's almost like
The neurotransmitters are firing,
But something is blocking their way.
It's almost like I'm taking in air
But not breathing on my own.
It's almost like
I am already dead,
Just not in the way
I had imagined.
