Bryan flexed his fingers. He was finally done with the Beta Trials and he was in a bad mood. (I was too after I saw the results.) The vote had been so close, but...now he was going to have to answer to Xylo as the Beta of the pack. He was happy that Relena had lost too, but he still couldn't get over the fact that he was just a regular wolf when he had so nearly been the Beta.

"Hey, Bryan?"

Bryan looked up. It was Jackson, the vampire. He blinked when he saw him, partly because he didn't expect to see him, partly because his tuxedo was so bright. Werewolf eyes were not used to gold, sparkly tuxedos.

"The others and I are watching a movie in the main house. Wanna join?" he asked.

"What movie?"

"A human horror movie called A Nightmare on Elm Street. Something like teenagers getting attacked by some claw-handed guy named Freddy Kreuger."

"Sounds boring and cheesy. It might boost my mood. I'll be down in a sec."

Everyone was gathered on the couches in the main house, in front of the TV. Bryan sat down in between Jackson and Brick. As the movie started playing, it was surprisingly scary, even for supernatural creatures. Bryan even shut his eyes once out of fear.

About halfway into the movie, Bryan noticed that Jackson was shaking in fear. Bryan scooted closer to him and took his hand. Trying to ignore his reddening cheeks, he stared at the movie and tried his hardest to focus on the scene. The only problem, werewolves had very good eyesight. Bryan could see out of the corner of his eye that Jackson was blushing and smiling slightly. He was...surprisingly cute when he smiled.

After the movie was over, Jackson and Bryan left together, chatting amicably about random things. They stopped by the woods and Jake then did something cra-zy. He kissed Bryan's cheek.

Bryan felt his palms starting to sweat and his throat closing up. Jake's lips were warm and soft, and...All too soon, Jackson pulled away, his face as red as Bryan's flannel jacket.

"I, uh, s-sorry. I-I just...wanted to say thanks for what you did during the movie. I'll admit, even for a vampire, I was getting seriously terrified. Thanks."

"Weren't you embarrassed?"

Jackson chuckled. "A little bit. I still enjoyed it, though. Anyways, how was your meeting? Meet any good-looking werewolves?"

"Well, one named Rhino. He was pretty handsome-"

"Even more than me?" Jackson asked slyly.

Bryan yelped and stared at him. "W-W-What?! W-W-What kind of a q-question is that?!"

Jackson laughed. "I just wanted to see your reaction. You're cute when you're flustered."

Bryan grunted and looked away from him. "Y-You know we have to go back now, right?"

Jackson smiled and nodded. They walked towards the houses and Bryan kept stealing glances at Jackson. He started to wonder if maybe Jackson could be...a mate.

Bryan wanted Jackson now. But the question was...could a werewolf and a vampire even love each other?
