Epilouge

"Everyone is going to miss it if we don't all hurry up!" Mahiru insisted.
We all stood on the winding road watching the sun come up. It was way to early and I was way to tired for this.
I had to drag Nagito all the way here, because he in no way was getting up.

It was early in the morning about 5 or 6.
Usami told us just yesterday our stay was almost over here. So Mahiru thought is would be a good idea to see the sunrise all together, one last time. The last day here.
I was sad to see the beautiful island go, but I was also kinda happy to get back home.
But I would for sure have to keep Nagito away from those dumb boys. That was gonna be annoying, but I knew somehow it will all be okay in the end.

He's the best thing that's come out of this trip. I'm so happy to be with him, it's so weird to know I have a boyfriend though. That's something I never would have thought to happen. Especially with the boy that used to hate me.
I glanced next to me watching the half asleep boy try and stand.
"Hey are you okay?" I questioned, that seemed to be something always lingering in the back of my mind.
Was he okay?
"Just tired." I put an arm around him as he did the same.

I exhaled sucking in the morning breeze.
"Okay, the suns about to come up!" The giant orange globe surfaced just barley the tip. It was so bright and vibrant that I couldn't not look at it.
I don't know how long we stood there but the orange color touched the land and all of us beautifully.

I put my head on Nagito's as we watched the sun light up for the day. Everyone was okay with us being together which shocked me a bit, but gave me a sense of relief. I guess my thoughts just got to me.

I felt a slight hand on my shoulder so  I lifted my head slightly. Chiaki stood next to me smiling. Next to her was also Kazuichi and Fuyuhiko who waved silently.
This felt like a new beginning just my friends and the world, facing It together.
I held onto Nagito tighter the orange color now turned a bit pink and purple giving the tips and corners of the sky more color.

I heard ahhhss and ooos escape everyone's mouths it was breathtaking.
"Thanks Mahiru, this is an amazing sight!" Chiaki exclaimed.
"Of course, I didn't want anyone to miss it. And on our last day and all." We all gleamed at the sky, little chatter here and there in the moment.

I just wanted to stay there in Nagito's warm embrace all my friends surrounding me.
But life's complicated...and sometimes what we want doesn't happen.

Makoto Naegi P.O.V.

"So you think they're ready?" Kirigiri questioned me as always. Fiddling with a pen on the desk in front of us.
"Yeah I made sure they know, well through Usami." I breathed in feeling a bit of guilt over take me.
"I'm sure they'll be okay." Kirigiri tried reassuring me.

"Yeah they are doing very well...just when they learn the truth about everything. I don't want them to go back to how they were, you never know right?" I looked at the computers aligning the screens of the NEO world program.
"But that's also a what if statement Makoto your not really sounding like the Ultimate hope." I could hear byakuya say behind me from a desk I couldn't see. I chuckled slightly that was true.

"Is it time?" Kirigiri nodded her head.
"Okay let's get this over with." I glanced behind the glass looking at the sleeping figures once more. Down at the vibrant screen I put my finger above the green circle.
And clicked the end button.

Hajime P.O.V.
I gasped.
Where was I?
I felt like I was enclosed and cut off from the world.
Hadn't I just been with everyone?
I tried to sit up as the thing I was in opened.
My eyes widened as I looked around.
There were machines everywhere hooked up to other strange pods.

"Hajime!" I heard Kazuichi's familiar  voice shout.
"Kazuichi? I'm so confused where are we?" I sat up on shaky legs as he pulled me to a stance, and gave me a sort of bro hug.
"Well I'm not to sure myself but those three said they would explain it all to us."

He pointed at a purple haired girl dressed nicely and a tall man in a suit as well as another man shorter than the other man but also dressed in a suit. 
"Where is everyone else?" I questioned looking around.

"Oh were all in another room come on." I walked into the room as happy shouts erupted from everyone.
"Your up!" Mahiru said from the corner.
I smiled at everyone and was glad to see the but more importantly I was looking for Nagito and Chiaki.

I felt a jump and a hug realizing that Nagito was now embracing me.
I hugged back tight.
"I was so confused why you weren't here I'm glad you are now." A smile appeared on his face.
"Me too." I looked around and realized that everyone was here except Chiaki.
"Where is Chiaki?" The room fell silent.
"About that..." Kazuichi sighed sadly.
The room fell into a scary dirt of silence.
"She's not real Hajime." Nagito's voice cracked.
"What do you mean she's not real?"

My head spun.
No this isn't real right?
Our friend was....fake?
"She was an AI." The tall man in the suit said from behind us.
Tears filled my eyes.
She's not real, she never was.
One of the people who taught me how to be myself and love...wasn't ever real?

I felt tears run down my face I couldn't help it.
She was my best friend.
Nagito's hug stopped me as he touched my forehead with his.
"It's going to be okay Hajime." He was shaken up too I knew she meant so much to both of us. I could hear Kazuichi trying to hold back tears. And Kazuichi...they were such good friends.

"No matter what happens I'm here for you." He Hugged me in close.
"Always?" I questioned.
"Always, we will always be there for each other when we need it."
"No matter what." I chimed in releasing my grip as I glanced around at everyone. We all were sad but knew somehow it was going to be okay.
The three nicely dressed people walked in and began to talk explaining what happened.
I grabbed Nagito's hand reassuring myself. He hadn't even flinched.

And I knew that Always, you'll always be there when I need you.
