fraying the edges of sanity
praying to keep the little
that remains - a disparity
between the brittle
bones; broken integrity
softly cutting corners
forgetting priorities
every step counts
every itty bittyuntil
it's all dust and clay
nothing more than
a skeleton clothed
in a carbon coat
genes sheathed
in fecund flesh -
bones housing
a fragile strengthshe
is nothing more
than biology -
at most,
a chemical composite
