A.n. this is the next morning

"Something seems off with Hermione," Harry commented to Ginny, who sat right next to him. Hermione and Ginny had convinced Harry to come back to Hogwarts for his 8th year, and Ron...well, who knows where he is. "Yeah...maybe its just that time of the month?" Ginny suggested. Harry shrugged, and started to eat the food that had appeared in front of him. Hermione could hear the pair talking about her, but she didn't have the mind to comment on how incorrect their assumptions were. No, she had been up almost all night thinking about what had happened, and then around 4:30, when sleep again tugged at her mind, she got the idea to talk to Draco. Surely, as Bellatrix was his aunt, he would know something. (A.n. I should mention that Draco and Hermione are semi-friends now. She convinced him to come back to Hogwarts again, after some persuasion of McGonnagal)(and no, ginny and harry are not a couple. Fight me.)

Of course, it wouldn't be very hard to track him down. There were only a couple dozen Slytherins this year, several of which were the newly-sorted. So Hermione thought up a plan. She just needed to talk to Draco in private, maybe after potions, as they shared that class. Then she needed to just get to the point and ask.

"Do you know anything about your aunt?" Draco looked at Hermione in confusion. "What?" "Your aunt. Bellatrix," Hermione forced herself not to blush at her name. "Newsflash, Granger, she's dead. Honestly, I would be thought that you, the smartest witch of her age, would know that." Draco started to walk away from Hermione, but she immediately began following him. "Was that a compliment, ferret?" Hermione said with a smirk. This stopped Draco in his tracks. "Fine...follow me. We can't talk about this here, in a hallway full of spoiled brats, git." Hermione laughed. Since getting to know Draco, she had learned how to press his buttons.

The pair paced past a section of a wall, and a door appeared, which they quickly snuck into. "Now, what do you know of my aunt?" Draco demanded as soon as the door was closed. "Not much, really. She just...showed up in my room last night, and-" "What?" Draco looked Hermione directly in the eye. "I got to my dorm last night, and she was there! Not that I mind it..." Hermione added shyly. Draco was the only one who knew about Hermione's little 'crush' on Bellatrix. Even if he did find it strange, Hermione was of age, so at that point he didn't give two fucks who Hermione liked.

"How is she even alive? Didn't Ginny say Mrs. Weasley shot her with a spell that killed her?" Draco started pacing again, confused as fuck. "She did! And don't ask me how Bellatrix was here, let alone in one of the most secure dorms of the Gryffindor house. We'll talk more about this later, class is starting in a minute." Draco stopped pacing, and gave Hermione a dumbfounded look. "Really? That's what you're worried about? Granger, we took these classes last year. We can be late to a few bloody classes! This is serious. I need to talk to mother. She should know her sister is alive. I'll make sure word doesn't spread beyond direct family and close friends, and as for you...just keep an eye out, alright?" Draco pulled Hermione into a hug after she nodded a reply. "Alright. Now can we get to our classes?" Draco laughed as Hermione took off to class, of course not running, but merely speed walking, which to be fair was kind of amusing.
