"Camryn, I don't understand, why are you crying?" Colton asks confusedly over the phone.
"Colton don't you get it? I know the name of my birth parents," I cry, "I was supposed to be a Davis not a Sutter!" I never expected to feel this way just by finding out my parents names. When I looked at the names my mom circled, I just couldn't handle the fact that I could be living a completely different life if I wasn't adopted. It all just became real.
"Cam I thought... hold on this is ridiculous," he says but then hangs up. What the heck?! I'm having a breakdown and he just calls me ridiculous and hangs up on me!
My confused thoughts are cleared when I hear my window opening. Oh. Talking over the phone with him ten feet away was ridiculous, not me.
I sit up on my bed and he crawls to me from where he stepped in. He wraps me in his arms and the tears continue to fall.
"I thought this is what you wanted Cam, I thought you wanted to know," he whispers into my hair.
"I did, but it's overwhelming," I explain, my face pressed against his chest. "Even though it's just their names, it's no longer a mystery."
Jaimie and Timothy Davis. Just by their names I'm able to find a similarity. My birth mother and I both have names that are unisex. Jaimie and Camryn. It had to be on purpose. And they both have the same last name. They were married. They could still be married. How crazy is it to think that my birth parents could still be together whereas my adoptive parents are separated. See, all this thinking is just too much.
Colton doesn't say anything, he just holds me tighter. I use this time to take him in. He smells fresh like he just got out of the shower. I look up at his hair and it's wet, confirming my shower theory. And for clothes he's wearing a black t-shirt and some gray Nike sweats. I wonder if he was about to go to sleep before I called him, it is almost 11 and we do have school tomorrow.
"So what's our next move?" he finally asks. I like how he says 'our', it lets me know that he's in this with me.
"I say we go for it. Let's find them and meet them. Get it over with," I say. My tears have stopped and Colton lets me go to lean his back against the wall.
"Are you sure? If you react this way just to seeing their names, how will you react when you actually see them?" he asks.
"That doesn't matter. What matters is that I meet them, that's it," I say sternly.
"Ok," he says, putting his hands up as if to surrender, "if that's what you want Cam, I'm in."
Our next thing to do would be to find out where they live, but that's easy since we now know something. But we can worry about that tomorrow, now all I want to do is rest.
"Stay with me tonight?" I ask Colton. He smiles and leans forward to kiss me.
Electricity shoots through me as soon as our lips connect and I pull him closer for more. I lay back onto my pillow and he follows, our lips never losing contact.
"I love you," he's mumbles between kisses. I rum my fingers through his now almost dry hair and gently tug, earning a chuckle from him.
"I love you too," I whisper as he moves his mouth down to my neck. There's something different about his kiss tonight. There's this urgency that I haven't felt before. Maybe it's because we haven't had a night like this for about a week. We've been too busy trying to not get caught by our parents.
Even though my mom is now okay with us being together, who knows when the next time Colton will be able to spend the night. What if he goes home and his dad puts him on some sort of lockdown.
Well I guess that means we should take advantage of the time we have right now.
Colton brings his lips back to mine and I pull him on top of me. I can feel the smile on his lips as I wrap my legs around his body, bringing him closer to me.
"You're... killing me.. Cam," he breathes. I don't respond, instead I run my hands down his back to grab the hem of his t-shirt. I tug at it until Colton reaches behind his neck and pulls it off.
My God is this boy a work of art. The moonlight coming in from my window is just enough to show off his muscular body and perfect features. He's beautiful.
He dips his head down and starts kissing my neck again, his tongue torturing me with its slow movements.
I lift his chin up so his lips are no longer in contact with my body. He looks at me with his beautiful hazel eyes and I smirk back at him. Feeling bold I grab the ends of my shirt and pull it off.
"Holy shit," Colton coughs, wide eyed and everything.
"Is that a good or bad reaction?" I laugh.
"Good, good, very good," he says quickly.
"My goodness Mr. Sommers if I didn't know any better I'd think you've never seen a girl in her bra before," I laugh again.
"I... it's just... I've never seen anyone so beautiful before," he says, looking me straight in the eyes. He kisses me again, this time slowly, more seductively.
"Colton I want to," I blurt out once my lips are free. His head shoots up and his eyebrows are raised. He sits up onto his knees, I sit up too. "What's the matter?" I ask him.
"No, nothing, it's just... are you sure? It's kind of a big deal Cam," he says, grabbing my hand.
"I know it is, and that's why I want to, with you," I explain.
"I mean, are you sure? I don't want you to feel pressured or anything," he tells me.
"Pressured?" I laugh, "I'm the one saying I want to sleep with you!" he laughs too and nods.
"I just want you to be sure, you know, once you do it, you can't take it back," he whispers.
"I know," I whisper back, kissing his bare shoulder. I leave a trail of kisses from his shoulder to his lips.
I wrap my arms around his neck and he wraps his around my back. I pull away and he groans, but not for long.
I take a deep breath and reach behind my back to unhook my bra. I let the straps slide down my arms, and Colton's mouth literally falls open. His reaction boosts my confidence and I pull him on top of me as I lay back onto the bed.
"Fuck Camryn," he moans, "are you sure?"
"I love you Colton, I'm sure," I say as his hands make their way to my bare chest.
"I love you too," he whispers.
