~I'll make it up to you~
"Her time is running out, it'll only take a couple of weeks before she leaves."
The words echoed through his head, the never ending words pissing him off with every passing second as he glared at the ground in front of him. The school rooftop always brought him peace but today seemed to be a different story.
"I don't want her to leave so soon..." he mumbled, leaning back on his arms as the clouds above him drifted away, taking his attention along with them.
It had been like that for a few weeks now, when they weren't battling another spirit or mystery, hanako would spend his days up on the rooftop, avoiding the adorable silver haired girl as best as he could. However his mind always drifted back to her no matter how hard he tried, she was always on his mind and with each passing second he dreaded meeting her once more.
Speak of the devil.
Soft footsteps approached the sitting ghost, shyly she sat next to him and fiddled with the hem of her skirt. She wanted to speak up, to tell him how determined she was to keep her life but the words seemed to have gotten caught in her throat, tears welling up in her beautiful crimson eyes.
"...hanako-kun?..." she called out once again, hoping- no, praying he would respond. A minute passed before he turned her way, his yellow eyes studying her crimson orbs, a sad and solemn look could be found if you only look deep enough into his.
Taking in a deep breath she brought her hand up to her eyes and wiped the few stray tears away before giving him a determined expression, eyebrows furrowed and eyes narrowed as she pouted, "I'm not giving up. I'm going to try my best to live!" She stated proudly, seemingly trying to convince herself more rather than the boy beside her who just stared back with wide eyes.
"Yashiro, it's easier said than done. It's been written in your book, we cannot change our destinies-"
"It's been done before! And I'll do it again! There's no way I'm going to let myself die hanako-kun. Not when you and kou-kun need me!" She protested, her hands reaching out and grasping his.
There was no point in arguing back, she was far too stubborn.
Besides. A part of him was thankful that she wasn't giving up.
"World-wide mysteries?" She mumbled with a raise brow, kou mimicking her expression as he peaked above her shoulder, both reading the article that hanako had been talking about.
