"are you going to break up with
me?"

silence filled the room. it grasped at
youra, scratching at her skin and tearing
at her hair. she wanted him to say yes and
no. yes, he would break up with her so she
wouldn't have to live with the guilt of
hurting a benevolent man. no, so she could
love him the right way.

instead, daehyun simply sat on the windowsill,
silent, his eyes set on youra. she couldn't make
out the emotions in his eyes. there was
sadness, but adoration as well.

his sadness tore her apart. and to think she
was upset! what right did she have? if she lost
daehyun, she would only gain hyunjin. if she
lost hyunjin, she'd gain daehyun.

hopefully her dignity would keep her
from chasing after hyunjin.

he smiled, his chin in his hand, admiring her.
how could he admire her at a time like this?
she wanted to dissipate into the air. his gaze
hurt her as much as it comforted her.

"no, i don't think i will," he said softly.

relief flooded through youra, and yet, a
coldness spread through her limbs.

"why?" her voice was raspy, dry, and
broken.

daehyun's slim and athletic legs moved,
no longer crossed. he lifted his chin,
turning to look out the window.

"i neglected you," he spoke. his tender
smile had started to turn into a frown. "didn't
i? so maybe i had this coming. that's probably
why i wasn't surprised when i found out
about you kissing... him."

his slender fingers tapped against the
white windowsill, the large glass showing
a dull view of traffic and a sad sky.

daehyun's posture made youra impatient and
uncomfortable. she hated herself, hates this...
this feeling. she hated daehyun for giving
her another chance.

daehyun's dark-haired head turned
towards her slowly, a sigh leaving his lips.
"it's a do-over for both of us, ara. i'll
love you the right way, this time."
