I had been searching for the necklace for hours. The current was strong and it had probably been carried away by the water. But I was still looking for it, trying to convince myself that it had been stuck under the rocks.

Thinking about it now, I regret not leaving because the next thing I know, I was falling. I fell backwards and slammed against the freezing cold water.

I instantly started clawing at the water with my hands as my feet tried to kick frantically. But I ended up sinking further down the river. My whole body was throbbing and was already shutting down from the freezing temperature.

Suddenly my side slammed into a large rock and I screamed out in pain, only for my mouth and lungs to be filled with water. My lungs seemed to be on fire and I was staring to give up.

My vision started to blur and I felt myself seeping into a state of unconsciousness. But then, I felt something hard grasp my waist, lifting me out of the frigid water.
