Chapter 115: The Good and The Bad

Start from the beginning

We all parked right behind the car and got out when we reached the church. The boys other then Daniel went forward and lifted the casket on a roller. They all kept their hands on it as they rolled it to the church door.

I grabbed Mom's hand just to steady myself as Me, Mom, Margaret, Daniel and Brie all followed the casket into the church.

My eyes started going crazy as I looked at all my loved ones. Audrey and Jamie were both looked sadly at me. Charlotte and Zach had both sat near the back. Seth and Roman sat in front of them with Nikki and Nattie sitting next to them. They had come for me. It made me want to cry even more. Mom, Daniel, Brie and I all sat in the very front. Dean walked over and joined me, gripping my hand.

As the whole thing went on, all I could do was stare at the casket.

My legs were so shaky that everytime we had to stand up I had to grab Dean for support. I didn't pay attention to what was being said. The memories of my Dad was the only thing I could think of.

It felt like forever before the church part was finally over. Now we had to go to the cemetery.

Everyone inside the church started to get in their cars. To make it easier, Seth and Roman drove with us.

Their was a huge line of cars. It just proved him much people loved my dad. With a cop car in the lead, followed by my dad we all followed. All of us blinked our lights in respect. Even at one point a car we passed did the same. I smiled at this.

We drove into the cemetery. Roman opened the door for me. I smiled at him in thanks as we walked towards where the grave had already been dug. Dean, Fred, David and Jared carried Dad's casket over and laid it over where the grave was dug. Dean took my hand once again as stood listening.

It was only when the priest asked for people to say a few words about Dad when I finally woke up.

Daniel spoke up first, "An amazing father, a fun, easy going guy."

Mom spoke up, "A loving husband. I couldn't have asked for a better one."

Everyone seemed to look at me, "Theirs not enough I can say about my dad," I said just so everyone could hear me, "He was not only my father, he was my friend. I hope he's there to lead me to heaven when I die."

"If I go to heaven," I added with a chuckle.

Fred stepped forward, "Bud was my only brother. I'm going to miss him a ton."

Audrey nodded at her dad, "I remember he always had such a wide, beautiful smile."

"He was also really hard working," added one of Dad's closer friends named Ben.

It caught me by surprise when Dean spoke, "Just a man who enjoyed life. You couldn't help but smile when you were around him."

The priest waited a few minutes before continuing. He then announced that their would be food back at church. I didn't want to go. I wanted to go home and curl up in my bed.

The good thing was they were serving scalloped potatoes. My favorite. I stacked my plate with it. If anything could make me feel better, it would be food.

I shared a table with Dean, Seth, Roman, Nikki, Nattie, Charlotte and Zach. I tried to keep a smile. I just had to calm down.

When everyone was almost done, Dean tapped on my shoulder, "Could I talk to you for a second."

I looked up, "Yeah."

Dean led me to a separate room.

"Ok," Dean said, "I know this is probably not great time to ask you this ...."

"What's up?"

Dean sighed, "I was just thinking.... we've been going out for what.... half a year now."

"About, yeah," I said.

"I want to spend more time with you," Dean said, "So I was thinking that it would be a good time to get a place for just the two of us."

A real smile came on my lips, "You want to live with me?"

Dean nodded.

"Where would we live?" I asked.

"Aberdeen," he said.

I gave him an instant hug. He chuckled.

"I take that as a yes."

"Yes!" I exclaimed, "I would love to move in with you."
And now she's all better.

Anywho, this funeral was based on a lot of stuff that happened at my Grandma's. It was hard for me. I hope you guys enjoyed this one.
