"Guys guess what!" Kazuichi's enthusiastic voice echoed throughout the restaurant.
"What's up Kazuichi?" Chiaki asked while eating another bite of her eggs.
I played slightly with the food on my plate barley eating. I couldn't get yesterday out of my head, many questions were swarming in my head. And I still didn't understand why."Hajime are you there?" Kazuichi's excited voice put me out of my thoughts.
"Oh. What's going on?" I asked timidly.
"Just that I, Kazuichi Souda and Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu. Spent all night fixing....wait for it..." he motioned to Fuyuhiko to continue."Why do I have to fucking say it?" Fuyuhiko asked quietly. Kazuichi's frown made him perk up.
"Fine....a boat." He said unenthusiastically.
"Ibuki thinks That's so cool!" Ibuki shouted happily.
"Yeah.." I tried to keep up my facade but it wasn't working."Hajime are you alright?" Chiaki questioned nudging my shoulder with her hand.
"I'm fine." Covering it up with a fake smile I turned to see Nagito finally walking in slowly.
"Hey guys, s-sorry I was late." He said out of breath.
Was he really still struggling today?
Maybe he has asthma.
I found myself looking for a possible solution, every one I could think of in fact.He sat down next to us at the Wooden table, that had been scrapped up from previous plates.
I just waved slightly, happy to see the sight of him again.
Chiaki sat down between us still finishing up her light breakfast."So I was thinking we could all go on a boat ride!" He exclaimed to us.
"That sounds like a really good idea." Mahiru said doing a slight excited jump. Everyone cheered making Kazuichi super happy.
I was glad he found something that would contribute to everyone.

We stepped out onto the sandy beach. Many memories appeared in my head, I really had spent a lot of time here during this trip so far.
The boat was silver in color as well as huge, and when I mean huge it was huge. It also looked like it hadn't been used in years but was up and running perfectly somehow.
Kazuichi really was the ultimate mechanic."Where did you find it?" I asked curiously, I mean where did he find a boat like this?
"Oh yeah about that, it was a pain in the neck to fix. We found it in a big warehouse at the airport." Kazuichi explained trying to tie the boat to the dock with Fuyuhiko's little help.
"Wow and you guys fixed it in a day?" Chiaki questioned.
"A DAY?!" Kazuichi stood in disbelief.
"You really think I could fix this thing in a day, it took me a couple weeks. I wanted to surprise you all." He smiled shoving a thumbs up in the air for us all to see.
"Well I think it's a very good surprise." Sonia said placing her hands together in content."So, are you guys ready for a boat ride?" Everyone nodded in agreement getting ready to board. Of course Mikan began to tumble and was caught by Ibuki.
"Be careful Mikan!" Akane said in a concerned tone.We all began to walk up on the boat that was floating on the water.
"So, Hajime are you excited for the boat ride?" Chiaki questioned. I shrugged.
She wiped her pink bangs a little shielding her face from the sun with her hand."Why did we have to do this so early though?" I asked laughing a little to myself.
"Well you know it's Kazuichi." Chiaki laughed a bit too. Her face was glowing pink which confused me for a second.
Was she okay?
"Chiaki are you okay?" I asked in concern.
"Yeah why..?" She asked stretching out the question."Nothing you just looked a little pink?" I replied.
"Oh, well, you know....probably tired from video games." She perked up at the boat.
"Looks like it's my turn." She quickly went up to the boat and carefully went up the thin stairs.I looked around before getting on, and that's when I noticed that Nagito wasn't on yet. I whipped around to see him standing there looking more pale than usual.
In instinct I went over clutching his arm so he wouldn't fall.
"Don't worry about trash like me Hajime." Why did he call him self that?"Your not trash Nagito, you just seem like your really struggling today. Have you eaten?" He shook his head no and I sighed.
"Well let's get on the boat for now but after we're getting you something to eat."
I said strictly. He hung his head slightly but walked with me onto the somewhat stable boat."Alright guys do you all want to just go around the islands, it will probably be a little while." Kazuichi questioned us all.
"Sounds good to me." Akane said while everyone else agreed.
"Okay off we go." Kazuichi started the engine, everyone else got settled into their small groups of friends. I stood with Nagito silently. I still couldn't get that thought of yesterday out of me head. Why?
It wasn't a big deal, I shook my head getting the thought's untucked out of my brain.I leaned on the edge of the boat peering down at the silky looking water trying to distract myself.
The clouds were moving at a slow pace as the sun beamed down on us. The sky was a pinkish blue making the world feel at peace."Did you sleep good last night?" I asked Nagito who was standing next to me.
"Oh well, not really but it was okay I guess." I could tell he was lying from the dark bags under his eyes but I didn't want to say anything."Well that's good." I smiled slightly making it a bit less awkward.
"The water is really pretty today.." he sighed looking down at the blue ocean below us.
"I would agree with that." He smiled chuckling a bit. I looked up and stopped talking catching my breath slightly.I realized everything at once.
His crystal ice blue eyes, his hair and the way his smile was presented on his face. It made heat rush into my cheeks instantly.I turned around quickly looking over at the island we were passing.
I couldn't be thinking like this right, was it wrong?
I looked back over at him feeling a little calmer.
He had his hand on the railing and his hand on his cheek glancing at everything that passed."Have you ever been on a boat ride before?" I asked.
"Only once, but that was when my parents were around." He looked sad now, still glaring down at the ocean not lifting his head to look at me.
"Oh where are they now?" I questioned waiting for the answer."Long dead I'm afraid." He sighed again in sadness. I felt bad then, really bad that I had brought it up.
"I'm so sorry Nagito." I placed a hand on his cold shoulder.
"It's really okay Hajime, it's been a long time." He looked over with his crystal eyes that I liked so much."But I couldn't even ima..." he cut me off with his hand lifting it up slightly
So I stopped talking, and removed my hand from his shoulder.
We stood in silence watching us get farther and farther from the shore.
He sighed in taking a breath.
"This fresh air is really nice." He said smiling as always.I breathed in as well and agreed.
"Yeah it really is.." I stopped talking as I met his eyes and just stared. We just stood there taking in each other's presence, it felt strange but I had accepted it. I had also accepted the fact that I had feelings for the boy standing in front of me.But I didn't care it wasn't a bad thing at all anymore.
"Hey guys." Chiaki walked over as we broke the stare standing a bit closer looking back over the water.
"Hi Chiaki." I waved as she walked over taking the place beside me."This ride is amazing." She said pulling out her Nintendo trying to beat another level as always.
She was way more talented than I could ever be.
I looked over at Nagito who was still admiring the landscape we were going past. They both happy which was a good sign. I looked over to see Kazuichi seemingly having the time of his life.
"Wohoooo!" He yelled out as we continued the short journey down the ocean. Fuyuhiko stood rolling his eyes.
"Come on you should yell too." Kazuichi looked over at fuyuhiko who agreed and let out a yell."Whoooo!" They both kept yelling and I smiled glad that Kazuichi had such a good friend.
I looked back over at the open ocean, it was very calm, just like I felt.
Content.
And happy.
