"What were you thinking, Emmy?! Seriously...how could you just--" Melanie went on the full scold mode and Emilia simply rolled her eyes as she was busy making up all the lies she had to sell that day.
Emilia sighed before turning to her wing woman and best friend, "I didn't have a choice, Mels. Father wouldn't have stopped with the boring introductions...I just did what would have given me a peace of mind," She shrugged nonchalantly.
"A Piece of mind? As if following through that lie is going to be easy," It was Melanie's turn to roll her eyes at the De' Medici.
"Elijah is a nobleman, moral and all that so he wouldn't expose me to Father or all the guests," Emilia assured her worried best friend.
"It's not the Mikaelson I am worried about, it's you, Emilia," Melanie shook her head, sighing, "Your father, however cruel he might be sometimes, he trusts and loves you...if you do this and he figures it out--"
Emilia cut her off, "He won't, Elijah will do his part and pretend to be my lover for the next weeks until all the Lords and Dukes father had invited go back to their homes...," She said before finishing as the blonde Mikaelson knocked on her door, "Then I will tell father, we realized we weren't the best match."
Melanie wanted to disagree but stopped herself and went to open the door, "Hello, Can I please see Lady Emilia? Tell her it's Lady Rebekah, Elijah's sister," Rebekah Mikaelson smiled at the Cruz before Melanie went to inform the De' Medici.
"And now he sent us his sister," Melanie rolled her eyes, telling Emilia, "This won't end well."
Emilia stood up abruptly and nodded at Melanie to let her in, "Lady Rebekah, to what do I owe the honor?"
Rebekah dusted off her clothes and smiled at the De' Medici, "I would like to speak with you," She eyed Melanie before continuing, "Privately."
The Cruz curtsied, saying, "Excuse me, my Lady."
Emilia was curious as to why the Mikaelson girl would come to see her so she merely excused her maiden, "You are excused."
As the door closed behind the maiden Cruz, Rebekah said, "You and my brother? How?"
