You felt worthless. Completely and utterly worthless. That idea of being invisible, untouchable even. Like you wanted to end all the misery there and then without fuss. Just to give everyone around you an easier time.

You'd been sitting in your room for at least 3 days now. Amelia sat to your left, her hand running through your hair in a friendly manner as she tried to hush you to sleep whilst Millie was in your right laying facing you trying to make you laugh. Your eyes felt heavy, the darkness begging you to let it take over but you just couldn't. You didn't want to give yourself the satisfaction. You deserved the pain it brought, the sting that shot through your body.

He'd left you. You knew it wouldn't last too long. The press putting out every fake story they could just to wind you both up began to work, with the argument about how one of you had supposedly been spotted somewhere you shouldn't have been with someone else, even when you both knew it wasn't true. You also realised how you'd both begun to spend more 'alone time' apart. The feeling of wanting to go home after a long day to an empty bed where you could spread out and relax. His touch lost it's magic, and the sex life fizzled down.

It was over, and you both knew it.
So when he sat you down on Friday evening to explain, you knew it was coming; yet it hurt no less. It was like a stab in the heart to hear the words 'We need a break' role off his tongue with ease. His eyes showing the sadness and guilt he'd been keeping for months of leading you on without confronting you about it all. He looked like he felt truly sorry. His eyes trying not to let the water building up in his eyes to spill, as he searched your face for emotion. You snapped, the tears falling as the air got colder; each breath felt like your lungs were failing you. If your room mate hadn't walked in, you don't think you would've been able to calm down as easily.

Speak of the devil, Jennifer walked in with another cup of tea in hand, your phone in the other. 10 missed calls. 10. Yet you felt no need to contact anyone else, just your three best friends. That was all you ever needed.

They'd been there since the start, listening to every night you'd come home crying because a tabloid had spotted Tom filming an intimate scene with an actress. Or when he wasn't able to come home from filming abroad as quickly as he thought he could. They'd sit up, every time, to listen to you babbling on and on.

Millie knew you back to front. You'd been like the high school friends that linked arms and giggled at every idiot that walked by - except you weren't. You were both quiet at school, just wanting to learn but getting on whilst planning the murders of fictional character and swooning over the latest celebrity crush. Yes, you'd argue. But wasn't that what best friends do? She'd listen to all those stupid boy troubles and she was more like a Mum than a friend sometimes, making sure you'd eaten, that you'd slept. Making sure you were happy all the time which is what you needed. She was utterly beautiful, and you loved her with everything you had. You'd back her up no matter what, her family basically your second family as everyone mistook you a related. She was incredibly smart, and anything you didn't get all you needed to do was glance at her before she'd explain. Her tall figure made you envious at your small size, but she just boosted your confidence more and more every day.

Amelia had been there for you since the very start, a sister you could rely on and even after her long flght to get here she managed to arrive within a day of you mentioning your heartbreak. Never once had she complained about your violent outbursts, and your stupid comments on things you didn't understand. She was also smart, someone who wouldn't be openly loving but you'd know she loved you. She just didn't need to tell you. She'd flown over every holiday so far from abroad to make sure you were still well, calling you, Mils and Jen most nights to have a laugh over webcam. She was the reason you ever met Tom, as when she became a writer/director, she knew her people. If you ever needed to get out of a situation, you went to her.

Jennifer was the opposite. She was the one you'd play fight with for the controls, or the one you'd end up throwing food at because she ate your pudding. Amelia was usually there to stop the childishness before joining in and causing chaos whilst Millie sat there just laughing at you all. They called you the fantastic four. Jen loved a good cuddle, and understood you even if it was just mumbles. She was the one to hold you before you emotionally crashed out. She'd have faith in anything you did, standing by to make sure you never did anything stupid. She'd agreed on the apartment share years ago, when you both decided to open a bookshop together, Jen's dream of becoming a writer coming true.

Both the girls sat on either side of your bed as you curled up more into Millie who pulled you to her, but all you could think of was how much you wanted the pillow beneath you to be Tom again. It took you only a day to realise how much you actually adored him and how much you needed him. You'd taken him for granted and you wanted to say sorry. Tom was like their older brother, and you'd taken that away from them, your body filled with guilt and pain.

Your thoughts were interrupted by a thump at the door, Amelia swinging her legs over to answer it.

"What the hell do you want?"

You couldn't help but smile over her protective nature. Both girls now at their feet near the door whilst Millie stayed by your side. The voice on the other end sounded strained, the pain making your heart clench.
You reminded yourself that he did this. He ended it. He was the one that broke your heart.

Then you remember the days out you spent together, how happy he was when he introduced you to his parents. The way he couldn't help but smile when you giggled, sliding around the house with his shirt on and socks. You felt the tears start to fall again, Jen turning around to leave Amelia there - knowing full well she could take care of it herself, and probably only need to lift her middle finger.

"Go away, Tom. She's hurting enough."

"You don't understand. I need her. Amelia, please. Just let me talk to her."

You could feel Amelia's eyes on the back of you head, Jen standing infront of you shaking her head 'NO' but being ignored and dragged out into the hallway with Millie and Amelia having an arm each, whilst you and Tom were left alone.

You didn't dare move.

"Oh Darling. How was I so stupid?!"

Silence.

"Take me back? I can't throw you along with 2 years away like that. It was stupid. I didn't think properly. We managed that long, the spark just didn't feel there anymore but I was blind. It was there, I just wasn't trying to see it anymore. Please, never let me let you go again."

You turned, his face tearing up when he saw how much you were hurting.

"I'm so sorry, Oh god-"

He cut himself off with his own tears, his hand flying to his mouth before you took in his appearance. He had no coat on a cold day, but his clothes made you think he'd run here. His face heating up with a flushed look, his hair windswept. You missed him, instantly crawling up and grabbing onto anything of his you could. You needed his re-assurance. His touch. His scent. His lips moved onto yours, them finding the rhythm in sync with the familiar movements.

You heard Amelia wolf-whistle whilst Jen clapped happily, both their figures in the doorway before Millie joined them with wine in hand. Their faces almost as happy as yours. The crappy movie was put on a few moments later, the five of you curled up on the sofa together again.

And it felt so right...

A/N: Because these three just sat through my depressive rant about life, ignoring my ignorance and rudeness towards them all throughout the whole thing. They accepted my apology that I really did owe them and just listened. They stayed there and helped me. There aren't many people out there than would stick around. I love these three, thank you guys. x

And thank you everyone who read this. It means a lot to know you guys stick around! <3
