Christopher Ward had excused himself to answer some important phone call.

Theodore breathed a little easier in his absence, but then there was Gabriel, still, and he could take his breath away.

That was an awfully sappy thought, and Theodore felt like he had to compensate.
"You're like those Christian girls who're saving themselves for their future husbands but think anal is some sort of loophole. Only, that doesn't actually work with gay sex, Gabriel."

Gabriel sounded amused when he asked, "Is this a morning roast-session or sex ed?"

Theodore would have chuckled had he been in a better mood.
"You could definitely use a bit of sex ed if your definition of 'not having sex' is buying condoms and looking quite literally fucked the morning after having gone to a party."

"There's a difference between looking like you've fucked and having fucked, Theodore. "

Fucked.

The word sounded foreign leaving Gabriel's lips. Almost too harsh despite the soft manner he'd spoken. Definitely too seductive to poor Theodore's ears and heart.

"You're acting as if I've made some weird deduction, but you can't blame me for trying to connect the dots."

"I don't blame you, I know how this must look. It's just- in the car, when I told you I wouldn't, I didn't and I wish you'd believe me."

I wish you'd believe me.

Shouldn't it be easy to believe a more desirable truth? Theodore found it relatively hard to do so."You'd sound a whole lot more believabe without those hickies covering your neck."

"I'd gladly make them disappear if it would help you believe me."

Theodore raised an eyebrow, "Not because they're -I don't know- fucking tasteless?"

Gabriel's smile was almost sheepish, "That too."

Theodore blinked, and then the marks were gone. "That's better," he said, "they didn't suit you."

"That's the nicest thing you've ever said to me, I think." Gabriel claimed, a hint of surprise in his voice because of the lack of sarcasm in Theodore's, "Not even joking."

"Well, that must say a lot about me." Theodore mused. Then, his lips turned up into a teasing smile,"or you."

Gabriel chuckled, "Shut up," he said fondly.
