Sacrifice

Annika sat at the edge of the village staring into the eyes of the soul thief, Shura. Annika and her had a connection that was probably frowned upon yet, its existence could not be ignored. Annika intently acknowledged the pain in the nape of her neck where her ominous birthmark sat. She was promptly distracted from her inspection of her birthmark, as a familiar voice belonging to her father jolted her out of her trance. This happened on a daily basis. The only reason Shura hadn't stolen Annika's soul was because she couldn't. There was a magic dome guarding the village provided by the village sage to stop the mass killings that Shura was doing.

All was well until November 2nd or the day of the dead. As per belief of her very Indonesian culture, that day was said to be very unlucky mainly because the magic dome would be broken to allow other deceased family members into the village to meet their loved ones. that night, Annika was fast asleep in her room when she felt someone looming above her when she opened her eyes, predictably, Shura was looming above her. In the blink of an eye, Shura snatched Annika away an carried her on her shoulders. other that wrestling with shura for a brief 2 minutes, Annika showed no signs of struggle. 

Shura walked through the dense forest with ease thanks to her huge feet and sharp devilish horns that only added to her demon like demeanor. Unexpectedly, When they reached Shura's hut, She cared for Annika and provided her with everything she needed. Shura even told Annika stoies of women who died from the wrath of the krasue ; a headless spirit of the unfaithful princess Tarawatee who was burnt to death for her mischief. The spirit had a hunger that was impossible to satisfy. It ate cattle and the placentas of women in labor. Annika cringed at the information fed to her as her father had told he the same thing about her mother's death.

Meanwhile, Annika's flustered father informed the villagers about Annika's sudden disappearance. The villagers came together to look for the jewel of Father's eyes: Annika .They marched through the forest armed with pitchforks as sharp as Shura's devilish horns. they knocked on the hut's measly door. They were in the stance to fire the most powerful instrument known to kill even man. 

unexpectedly, Annika opened the door. the sheriff pulled the trigger while simultaneously realising Annika was at the door. The weapon pierced through Annika's heart as she fell onto the floor shura screamed in agony as she felt a void in heart grow she screamed shrilly as if the weapon had pierced her heart she flung everyone charging toward her across the room and attended to Annika. Annika weakly explained how she already realised that Shura was her mother. Annika had seen the similar birthmark Shura and Annika shared. Annika lost her life and her soul escaped out of her wound and Annika's spirit joined hands with Shura and walked toward the edge of the forest and were joined by the Sacrifice...
