Hi! :) So two posts in one week. To be honest, it's only because I put off homework over Thanksgiving break to write. However, this chapter is still pretty short. It's kinda like a transition chapter. New places, new confilct... I'm just going to clamp it and get on with the story. Oh, and please vote-fan-comment. Not necessarily in that order, but you know what I mean. Bye!

"And this button resets the transport in case of failure..." I totally dozed off. After conjugating verbs, this had to be the most boring thing in the universe.

"Yeah, Nolan, I'm not really paying attention. Can I just get a review sheet or brochure or something?"

"No. And its kind of important. So wake up and turn your ears on."

"Fine, mister grumpy. Who shoved a spork up your butt?" I could faintly hear Nathan snicker. Nolan gave me the stink eye and turned back to the control panel.

"Alright, we'll stop if you can figure out how to transport this," he reached in his pocket and picked out a napkin, "to Cosmos. And you have two minutes."

Oh crap.

I stared blankly at the panel for a few minutes before pressing a pretty green button. A list of recent teleporter uses popped up in front of me almost immediately.

"A little south," Nathan whispered in my ear. I touched the button directly below the green one and two options appeared in the air where the list was. "Outgoing, press blue. Incoming, press red." I pressed blue. Another list appeared, with categories like "being, supplies, weapons, other" I thought, and pressed supplies.

"Actually, its 'other',"

"Why?"

"Just is, ok?" I pressed the clearly-marked "back" button and chose other. Then it asked if it was going in or out of the ship. Obviously in. A map appeared of the ship, a top view. I wasn't sure what desk it was on, so I flipped through the maps.

"Time's up!" Yelled Nolan.

"Asshole!" I yelled back. "How are you supposed to do this in under two minutes?"

"Watch." He said. He took the controls and pressed an orange button, completely undoing two minutes worth of work. Then he pressed a pink button and spoke.

"Outgoing, other. In ship transport to Deck 6 room 47. Send." And in a flash the napkin disappeared.

"That's not fair. How was I supposed to know that?"

"I told you, 7 minutes and 37 seconds ago. Maybe you should pay attention."

I sighed and proceeded to be lectured more about the horrid device.

Aimée was insufferable. Apparently everything I did was wrong or boring or something, but she had a jolly old time with Nathan. It was ridiculous. But I promised myself I wasn't jealous. Many times a day. Besides, someone of that status would not be seen with me. Honestly, even though she didn't know anything about them, she still acted overconfident like them all. Only 3 months, 30 days, 10 hours, 14 minutes and 23 seconds left...

Aimée--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nolan was insufferable. A stick in the mud. Worse than that, a spot of dirt in the mud. You could actually do something with a stick. I didn't understand, he was personable and nice at Goodwill, and then just turned cold once we got on the ship. I was understandably pissed off about being kidnapped, so that didn't explain anything. Maybe it was guy PMS. I wondered if they did that kind of thing. Weird. Nathan was friendly, maybe a little too friendly, but what did I know. It's not like I was experienced in the guy department. Only 3 months, 30 days, 10 hours, 14 minutes and 23 seconds left...

Bored, bored, bored. It was the third day we'd been on the planet, and I was bored to tears. And the worst part was I had to stay in the transport room the whole time they were down on the surface, in case they had to come back up suddenly. No bathroom breaks. Nothing to keep me occupied. Unexpectedly, I got a transmission from the surface.

"We found it, please......"

"Um, what?" I asked.

Static.

"Hell-oooo?"

Static-"Aimée?"-Static

"Oh did you say you got it?"

"No, I didn't. Did you, Nathan?"

"Uh, nope."

"Alright would you please get us back up, Aimée?"

"Yeah hang on." I pushed some buttons to find their location and brought them back. Nolan stepped off the platform.

"So right before you asked if we had gotten it, what did you hear?"

"I got a transmission from down on the ground saying 'We found it, please..' and then it went to static."

"Where did it come from?"

"I'll check... it doesn't say."

"Hmm, I remember about that time my headset had some communication problems with the ship, but it sorted itself out a couple seconds later."

"Okay, so if I didn't say it and Nolan didn't say it, who did? Your mystical subconscious?"
