Different [SLOW UPDATES]

Introduction

Rebeckah suddenly jolts awake as someone shakes her shoulder. "Hey, honey. We're here, in Mystic Falls. The movers should be here soon."

"We're actually here?" Kelly nods and Rebeckah rubs at her eyes. "Um, it's alright if I go check out the house right?"

"Of course honey. I'll give you a holler when they get here." Rebeckah unbuckles her seat belt and steps out of the car, stretching as she breathes in the fresh air. She looks up at the large beige house in front of her and starts walking towards the front door, grateful for the key her mom had copied for her. She unlocks the front door and steps into the first room. It's mostly a wide-open space. She checks out every room, deciding to take the first bedroom. When she walks back outside her mother is getting out of the car as the movers pull up in the moving truck. "Hey, I was just about to call for you. Come help."

"Sure mom."

A couple of hours later

"Well, that's it." Kelly waves goodbye to the movers before turning to her daughter. "What do you say we go get something to eat? I heard there's this great place in town."

"Yeah. I'm starving." Rebeckah grabs her jacket and follows Kelly to the car, getting in the passenger seat. They drive for a bit, the music blasting, before arriving at a rustic building called "The Mystic Grill". "Wow. Looks nice."

"Well one of the movers used to live here and he said this place was great." Both women get out of the car and head inside, seating themselves at a booth.

"Hi, what can I get you, ladies, to drink?" A blue-eyed, blonde-haired male waiter approaches them, pen and pad in hand.

"I'll take a water and honey do you want the same?" Rebeckah nods and the waiter scribbles it down on his pad. "Oh uh we're new in town and I was wondering where to find the high school. For my daughter of course."

"Ah, some newcomers. Just take a left at end the end of the road and then a right." He motions with his hands. "I'm Matt Donovan by the way."

"Kelly Pierce." Kelly shakes Matt's hand. "This is my daughter Rebeckah."

"Well nice to meet the both of you. I actually need to get back to work." He turns to walk away. "Welcome to Mystic Falls."

"Well, that was interesting." Kelly's eyes leave Rebeckah's and land on Matt. "But I must say, that is one very attractive young man."

"Mom!" Kelly laughs before looking back at her daughter.

"Well let's decide what to order." They pick up their menus and scan them as Matt walks over with their waters.

"There's that." He sets each one in front of each woman. "Have you decided on what to eat?"

"Yes. I'll take a turkey on rye." Matt writes the order down on his and then turned to Rebeckah.

"And I'll have the garden burger." Matt writes her order down and takes their menus, walking over to the kitchen.

"So honey, are you excited for your first day next week?" Kelly turned to her daughter and clasped her hands in front of her. "I mean if all the guys are as attractive as Matt..."

"Mom!" Rebeckah covered her beet-red face with her hands.

"I'm just joking, calm down." A couple of minutes later their food arrives and they dig in, talking and laughing.
