We drove back to the house at full speed, though I was still surprised the truck still worked after what we did not even five minutes ago.

"Alright, here's the plan," Brooke said as we pulled up to the house. "We change clothes and pack a bag of all the things we absolutely need, we get gas, then we hightail or asses out of here."

"Sounds good," I said.

"Let's go," Liam said, and we all got out of the car.

We sprinted to our rooms, and I quickly changed into a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. I then threw some spare clothes into a backpack along with my toothbrush, hairbrush, and some money and credit cards. Good thing I'm rich and have my own bank account.

I finished packing and walked downstairs.

Suddenly, the reality of everything hit me. We were actually running away, something we always dreamed of doing but never have done. Until now. And all because of some asshat named Tyler Wood.

But the strange thing was, I wasn't upset about it. I was actually kinda glad all this happened, because now we were finally taking control of our lives and doing what we want.

Brooke came downstairs with a bag packed, and I could have sworn I saw a makeup bag in there. Leave it to Brooke to think of makeup as essential.

Liam came down next, and his bag was barely packed. Out of the corner of my eye I saw pictures in his bag, though.

With a jolt, I realized that even though I was leaving my family, so were they. And unlike me, they didn't hate their family.

"What are you guys doing?" I asked.

"Leaving," Brooke said. "Duh."

"I know, but I can leave on my own," I said. "There after me, not you."

"Don't be stupid," Liam said. "We're coming with you."

"But you'll be leaving your family," I said. "I can't take the responsibility of separating you from your family."

"But we're family as well," Brooke said.
"Where you go, I go. That's how it's always been."

"Besides, they've chosen Tristan over us," Liam said. "And there's no place I'd rather be than with you."

"Alright guys, no chick flick moments," I said, smiling slightly. "Let's get going then."

"We'll take two cars," Josh said. "Brooke and I will take my car and Liam and Hayley will take another car. That way it seems like we're actually preparing for the supposed wedding."

"Good thinking, Josh," Liam said, giving Josh a fist bump. I swear those two are going to have a bromance going on sometime soon.

"Alright, let's go," Brooke said. "We're on a time limit here."

We nodded and left. I threw my bag into the trunk of Liam's car and sat in the front seat. I took one last look at my beloved motorcycle and sighed.

"Don't worry, Hales, we'll get you a new one," Liam said, seeing me looking at my bike. "A new and improved one."

"But I've been through everything with that bike," I whined. "It's my pride and joy."

"It's two years old, Hales," he reminded me.

"Yeah, but it granted me my first taste of freedom."

"I know, Hales, but if your motorcycle is gone, then they'll know that you're running."

"Not if your car is here. Then they'll think that we both just took my bike."

"I know, Hales, but you know I love my car too much to just leave it here. I'll never see it again."

"And I'll never see my bike again."

"I'll buy you a new bike, I promise."

"But I want my bike!" I protested. "Can you just drive my bike with me. Please."

"I hate driving with you on that bike. I always feel like I'm gonna die."

He looked at me and sighed. "I'm sorry, Hales, but we have to leave it behind. I promise you will get a new bike."

I muttered curses under my breath, but sighed in defeat. Liam gave me an apologetic look and started the car.

We followed Brooke's car and kept driving. We stopped several times for gas and twice for food. Hey, we're werewolves and get hungry. Especially me and Brooke. We get cravings, and werewolf cravings are far worse than human cravings.

We drove throughout the night and through four states. Werewolves drive fast and we know how not to get caught.

Finally, we pulled into a hotel somewhere in Nebraska. We were careful not to drive through other werewolf territories, as they'd most likely call my dad once their Alpha recognized me, due to the Alpha meetings I was forced to attend, and we couldn't have that. Thankfully, this hotel was in unclaimed territory.

We got out and checked into the hotel. We got two rooms, and I sat my bag down in one of the rooms.

"Alright, who's bunking with who?" I asked, laying down on the very comfortable bed. "And I've already picked this room, so whoever picks this is stuck with me. I am comfortable and am not leaving this bed anytime soon."

"I'll bunk with Princess over here," Liam said. "You and Josh can have the other room."

Josh nodded, and Brooke mouthed a thank you. Liam nodded, and they left the room.

He turned around, and I raised an eyebrow at him. "So, you're my new room mate. Fair warning, I am not changing my habits. That means I am still sleeping without my pants."

Liam laughed. "Okay, Hayley."

I smiled and looked at him. I was suddenly overwhelmed with everything and how close I came to almost mating with Tyler.

"I almost mated with Tyler today," I said quietly.

"I know," Liam said.

"I don't want to mate with Tyler," I said. "And I don't want to give him the satisfaction of taking me by force if he ever finds us."

Liam looked at me and held out his arms. "Come here."

I got up, confused, and walked over to him. He engulfed me in his arms and kissed me. I didn't protest and kissed him back. And by the end of the night, I didn't have to worry about Tyler taking anything from me ever again.
