Sleep deprived

Waking up I quickly got dressed and left my cottage. It had been a little while since we had all gathered at the restaurant, and I was honestly glad we could all talk in the morning while eating breakfast and chatting about sleep and weird dreams that had occurred last night.

I walked over to an empty chair and sat down. Kazuichi appeared from the staircase walking over to greet me. I gave him a wave and continued to look around at the other classmates.
Most people filed in and took a seat with a friend or two.
"Hajime, what's up!" He cheerfully joked.

"Nothing much, I was wondering if you wanted to hangout today." We agreed to hangout just as Teru Teru placed the food down on the table for breakfast.
"Thanks Teru Teru your food is always amazing." Chiaki said from behind me. He grinned at her and walked away back to the kitchen.

Chiaki skipped over to me and sat down at the other empty seat. Behind her was him. The tall boy who walked at a slow pace, in a ghost like motion.

He walked over and sat down slowly in the vacant chair close to me.
Rubbing his soft green eyes and yawned.

His eyes had bags under them that were dark like he was wearing black eyeshadow. He laid back in his chair, his eyelids falling down slowly. His arms were limp from drowsiness and he seemed to be falling asleep at the table.
My thoughts began spiraling.
Did he sleep?

Why was he so drowsy?
I was confused as to why I was even thinking these things but they just kept popping into my head.
I hadn't cared about him before, why now all of the sudden?
"Hajime?" I must had been staring at him.
"Yeah?" I said snapping back into reality.

"Are you okay, you kinda spaced out on me there." Kazuichi laughed awkwardly looking over at the exhausted boy.
"Oh yeah sorry I was just thinking I guess, takes me to another place sometimes." I rubbed the back of my neck trying to play it off.

Why did I care about him? Was the thought sticking in my head.

"Do you guys have any plans for today?" Chiaki questioned us as we got up to get breakfast.
The sleepy figure put his head down on the table not bothering to get up and get food.

"No I was thinking we could all go do something together If you guys want?" Kazuichi stated stretching his arms behind his head. I picked up a fresh plate from the huge tower next to the fresh food. It smelled amazing just like always, but we hadn't been around all that much to eat together in the morning before we ventured out for the day.

"Maybe we could go out out to the beach house?" Kazuichi questioned as we put a mountain of food on our plates. I caught Chiaki catching a glimpse of the sleeping boy.
"We should go to the movies!" Chiaki gleamed, her eyes fluttering with excitement.

We all smiled, nodding our heads in agreement.
"Sounds like a plan." I smiled happily surprising Kazuichi.

"Hajime, your smiling?" He patted me on the back like a dad to his son when he got a great test grade.
"Uh, thanks? I just smiled though." I said slightly coughing at his impact on my back. Kazuichi and Chiaki laughed carrying the food to the mostly empty table.

I slipped into my chair sitting the farthest from the white haired boy, he was sleeping in a deep sleep while he slightly stirred.

Chiaki placed her food on the brown shiny table getting ready to eat when she noticed him sleeping. She placed her shiny metal fork on the table, lightly tapping the boy's shoulder.
He didn't wake up and I pretended not to notice, scooping up some eggs and scarfing it down.

Kazuichi looked over at him strangely, I couldn't help thinking he was probably thinking about the same thoughts I had, right?
"Nagito?" Chiaki shook him harder on the shoulder.
He lifted his head and looked over at her.

His eyes were blood shot, and had a tint of pink in them.
He didn't say anything and stared at her as he tried to keep his eyes open.
"Oh my gosh, Nagito are you okay?" She touched his shoulder in concern and he grinned weakly.

"It's....okay I just didn't...sleep much." He yawned again as Chiaki put her hand back to her fork.
"You should really go back and get some sleep, maybe not do anything today?" He yawned once more and nodded his head. Placing his arms back on the table, he put his head into the darkness of his arms.

Kazuichi gave him a bad expression while continuing to stuff his mouth full.
"What, were you up thinking or something?" Kazuichi joked, mouth half stuffed. At that remark the boy lifted his head in surprise slightly looking over at me.

"No..I was just resetless..." I had a hard time believing that but quickly lost eye contact with him looking down continuing to eat my meal.
"Are you gonna eat Nagito?" Chiaki looked at him slightly concerned.
He placed his head back down and murmured.
"No, I'm not hungry."

We finished up breakfast while the boy slept quietly next to us.

What he was thinking about made my mind swirl with messages.

I walked up to the dark brown door gripping the handle to walk in.
Chiaki was standing there with a small popcorn in her hand awaiting me and Kazuichi.
"Hi hajime." She distantly waved and continued to munch a bit on the popcorn in her hand.

"Hi." I walked over and stood next to her waiting for Kazuichi to show up. The theatre was empty and we seemed to be the only ones there.
"Nagito was pretty tired earlier." She wanted to make conversation about him, but I pretended not to care.
I fell silent as she continued.

"I made sure he got back to his cottage to sleep, hopefully not for long though because otherwise he won't sleep tonight." I nodded in agreement not really paying attention to what she was saying. I sighed slightly breaking the tense mood, I could tell her struggle to try and make me and him friends was not working out.

But I knew it most likely wouldn't happen as much as she wanted us to get along....I just couldn't see it.
Kazuichi's noticeable pink hair brushed through the door way and he walked over smiling.

"Guess what guys, I saw Sonia outside she seemed like she was doing something important, she was walking down the road." He put his hand in his chin in thought.

"Maybe she was like....just walking?" I stared as I chuckled a bit, I was so glad he was my friend and he seemed to make me laugh a lot on this trip....even if it was about his obsession with Sonia.

That was honestly really concerning.

"Alright guys lets go in." We purchased a few tickets, and Kazuichi grabbed a thing of popcorn at the counter as well since we were already there anyway.
Walking into the theatre there was a big screen displaying many previews for movies I would most likely never see.

We quietly moved into the top row near the middle, even though no one was there we were still for the most part quiet. Sitting down on the soft chair, I watched the previews waiting for whatever movie Kazuichi had picked out for us to watch.

I didn't mind him picking though as long as I was with the only people who seemed to get me.
But in the back of my mind one thought still brewed.

Why was he so tired?
