"What kind of a person fires someone on Christmas day?! After I spent yesterday and today slaving away for him and his stupid christmas pancakes." I ranted to my best friend on the phone. I couldn't believe that jerk could fire me after working at that dump for 3 years! He didn't even offer me a ride home! So here I was, walking home alone at night. Not dangerous at all!
"Well, Y/n, I gotta go... hunting with my brother. I'm sorry. If you want me to, I can go beat him up for you?" he finished with a chuckle.
"Not yet, Sam. I might take you up on that offer though. And don't apologize for that! Bye."
"Bye, kid."
"I'm not that older than you, Winchester." I roll my eyes. After I hung up the phone, I cautiously started making my way through the crowded streets. The crowd thinned as I walked closer and closer to Queens. I looked around at every noise, every whisper of wind. I hated walking at this time. I usually come home in the evening.
After five minutes, I felt like someone was watching me. But when I looked back, I couldn't see anyone. I was suddenly wary of every movement my eyes caught.
"Hey pretty girl." A raspy voice called me from behind. Almost as muscle memory my hand went into my pockets and clutched the packet of salt. Sam always made me carry one. I quickened my pace. Twice as fast as I was walking before. I heard footsteps following mine from behind. I knew I shouldn't look but I had to make sure I wouldn't need the salt. Soon I was running. Panic flared in my chest and tears blurred my vision.
I needed to stay calm, I kept telling myself. I still had a long way to get home. Suddenly the footsteps stopped and I slowed and looked back. A flash of red and blue caught my attention and he flipped right between us.
"Leave the lady alone. Got nothing better to do tonight?" he said. Something shot out of his wrists and landed on the drunk's hands. He stuck him to the wall. He tried fighting back but he couldn't get out of the sticky white substance.
"Hey let me go you freak!" The attacker growled at us causing me to shrink as far away from him as possible.
"Eh. It'll dissolve soon enough." He grinned.
Who is this? Oh my god. That's when it dawned on me. I realized who I was standing in front of with my mouth wide open.
"You're Spider-Man!!!"
"The one and only." he replied walking up to me.
I broke out of my trance when I remembered that he had just saved my life.
"Th-thank you so much." I stuttered. I had only heard about this spider dude. "I'm Y/n."
"Nice to meet you, Y/n" he paused.
"I guess you probably don't want to tell me your name. I know. It's fine. Can I suggest a better name?" I smirked with a new found confidence.
He nodded.
"Mr. Web-Slinger." I blushed at my cheesiness.
He chuckled at the nickname and possibly at my red face.
"Well nice to meet you, Y/n. See ya around!" He winked at me, his suit eye whirring. Suddenly I was left alone in the snow. It was snowing. I hadn't even realized how beautiful it looked outside because I was so busy making sure a demon didn't decide to possess me. Mr. Web-Slinger. I hope I would see him again. Maybe in different circumstances.
