Early in the morning Jake woke me up, "Hey, we have to go." He muttered.

"Five more minutes..." I moaned.

"No. We have to go." He said louder.

"Since when do I listen to you?" I giggled.

"Since now." He chuckled back, and shook me awake.

"Fine." I groaned and pulled myself out of bed. I slowly walked to my bag and pulled out some clothes, "Are you going to leave or do I need to change in the bathroom?" I teased Jake. He laughed and left the room.

After a few moments of getting ready I rushed out to meet Jake. He put a hand on my shoulder to guide me out the door and I flinched away.

"Ouch..." I mumbled rubbing the sore shoulder.

"Sorry! I completely forgot." He apologized

"It's alright. I mean who knew bricks hurt so bad?" I joked.

"Luke should have, I'm about this close to going over there and breaking his neck." He held up his fingers about a centimeter apart. I giggled and punched him lightly with my good arm.

"That's fair." I teased as we left the room. We walked down the stairs to find a pile of bricks out front. A red stained white rose lay at the top by a note. I picked up the crumpled paper and read Luke's messy handwriting.

Dear Emma,

Without you I'm nothing.

With you I'm something.

Together we are everything.

If you leave me, I'll be hunting.

    - Luke

Jake ripped the note from my hand, after a quick skim of the paper he crumpled it up and tossed it in a bush. I felt my hands shake slightly as I held the flower.

"Don't worry. He can't get you when I'm here to protect you." Jake murmured softly.

"But he did. Jake he threw a brick at me! When he finds out you're the only thing in his way he might-" I couldn't finish my sentence, I just looked away from Jake's penetrating stare.

"He won't hurt me." Jake said.

"How do you know! I'm a danger to you! I can't let Luke hurt someone I love!" I realized what I had said in an instance. My face became hot as Jake's face burned bright.

"You... Love me?" He murmured.

"I-" I didn't know how to finish the sentence. He pulled me into a soft embrace, and leaned down to my ear. "NO!" I finally blurted.

"I love you too." He murmured softly. A small gasp escaped my lips when the words flowed from his mouth. He gingerly pulled away, "So much." He leaned closer to where I could feel his warm breath on my lips.

"Hey Kiddo's the bus is gonna leave!" The limo driver broke the tender silence.

"Right..." I mumbled.

"We'll continue this later." Jake winked. I rolled my eyes and slid into the car. He slid next to me and pressed his side to mine.

"We have enough space, you don't have to crowd me." I mumbled.

"Well maybe I want to..." He teased. I yelped and my face turned bright red.

"You're adorable." He murmured quietly as he took my face in his hands.

"No I'm about to pass out..." I spluttered back. He laughed quietly and leaned closer to my face.

Suddenly we hit a pothole and I jumped forwards. Our lips met for a brief second in a moment of pure confusion. I jumped away from him and my head slammed against the wall of the car.

"OUCH!" I yelped as my head collided with the solid wall. Jake burst into laughter.

"You ok?" He asked through his hysteria.

"Yeah, thanks a million soft lips." I murmured, within an instant I realized what I had called him. "I mean! You're lips aren't soft, well they are, but-" I flailed around with my words for a moment before I gave up on recovering my sentence and my dignity.

"You want to keep trying to use words or just admit I have soft lips?" He teased.

"I have no idea what you're talking about. I'm great with my words." I huffed back.

"Uh-huh. I have a question then, why do you stare at my eyes?" He continued.

"Well, I-uh, think they're cute! I mean-Not cute, beautiful? Fine you win." I finally said.

"Great, in that case," He leaned in close "Do you want to feel my soft lips again? For real this time?" He whispered in a joking manner.

"Shut up." I muttered as I pushed away his face.

"Oh come on!" He laughed

"Fine. Close your eyes." I mumbled quietly.

"Really?" He questioned.

"Yeah." I mumbled. He closed his eyes as I quietly kicked the candy drawer open. I pulled out a soft gummy candy and pressed it against his lips.

He pulled away fast, "You're lips are so sweet, almost like candy. Nice try." He chuckled.

"It was worth a shot." I giggled, he pulled the candy from in between my fingers and popped it into his mouth. "Gross! What if I hadn't washed my hands!" I teased.

"Adds more flavor." He teased back. I pretended to gag and rolled my eyes. "Come on, if you hadn't washed your hands why do they smell like Honey Lemon?" He murmured taking my hand in his and sniffing it.

"Maybe I ate a Honey-Lemon flavored candy."

"And rubbed it across the entirety of your hand?"

"Don't judge what I do in my free time." I flicked him in the forehead.

"How's your arm?" He asked as the first serious comment in a while.

"Sore... But I'm ok." I mumbled.

"If I didn't want to get you out of there as soon as possible I would have killed him." Jake growled.

"I don't want you going to jail for me, who else would I tease?" I nudged him lightly.

"You? Tease me? Never." He laughed back. I rolled my eyes and leaned back against the car seat resting my head on Jake's shoulder.
