What Makes Her Different

Matty had been caught up in all of the school by the end of the first week. She had heard who was dating who, who was fucking who and who wanted who. Matty of course had heard about Nate Jacobs and Maddy Perez. The on and off again IT couple of the school. Matty had made a few more  acquaintances  at the school. Some people would ask her if she was the girl from kindergarten while others had no clue.

Matty had hung out with Jules and Rue for a little bit but overall Matty kept to herself. The thing that annoyed her the most was she held herself back from making friends. Matty figured that she was not gonna stay in this place for too long so what was the point of putting herself of that emotional trauma when she left.

Nate Jacobs had made a point to make sure that she did not go unnoticed whether it be a slurpee sitting at her desk at her next class or him driving her home. She knew that Maddy was head over heels for Nate Jacobs but she was sorta interested into what Nate Jacobs wanted from her. Matty was not close to Maddy so it's not her fault that Nate wanted her. Plus Matty sorta liked the attention of it all. Maybe Matty was more like her mother than she thought. She never claimed to be a good girl.

Matty was walking home once again when she heard a truck pull up to her. She turned to look at the driver, "I don't need a ride Nate".

"get in" he told her, "I know you don't have anywhere to go while your mom is fucking some guy".

Matty turned to look at him putting her hands on her waist. She had chosen a white tennis skirt paired with a black turtleneck along with her black boots. Matty looked at him through her eyelashes, "that's not a way to ask a girl Nate" she told him.

"Just get in Matty" he told her before pushing open the passenger side.

Matty crossed her arms across her chest, "no". It was all a game and Matty was good at playing games. Matty kept walking before she heard the other door open. She kept walking before she was grabbed by someone. Matty screeched and kicked her feet not finding the ground. She whipped around to find Nate Jacobs, "put me down Nathaniel".

He carried her to the car before placing her in the passenger side. She watched as he walked around to the driver side. Matty gave him a death glare. Nate grabbed her chin and gave her a smile, "smile baby" he told her before taking off.

Matty watched as the trees passed. He was such a dick especially about her mother but the truth was that she had no where to go. She had tried to hang around the art room but had been kicked out by the teacher. She ran a hand through her hair and sighed. They pulled up to a big house. Matty stared up at it and turned to look at Nate.

"come on" he told her.

"where are we?"

"we're gonna get some food" he told her slamming the door shut. Matty looked at the house before sliding out of the truck slowly. She walked up smoothing down her tennis skirt. She slipped through the house and looked at the different pictures hanging. It was everything that she wanted down to the smell of food. The sad thing was there was limited amount of times that Matty had ever been in a home. She tended to not have friends and she always stayed in motels or hotels.

Matty bit her lip and followed Nate to the kitchen. She stayed behind him and watched as he grabbed two bowls. Matty watched as he filled them both with pasta.

"come on"

She followed Nate upstairs quietly and then followed him into a room. Matty stayed in a corner and looked at him as he stared at her.

"What's wrong?" he asked her

"Nothing" Matty told him looking around.

"You look like a lost dog"

"I just wasn't expecting to come to your house" she told him.

"come here"

"I'm good" Matty told him raising her head, "you have Maddy".

"Maddy cheats on me all the time when we are on a break" Nate told her.

"I don't care.... can you take me home" she asked him.

"so you can sit outside?" he asked

"why does it matter what I do?"

"Because I just do"

"You piss me the fuck off"

"I could say the same about you"

"fuck you"

"I would gladly fuck you" Nate said with a grin on his face.

Matty rolled her eyes at him and then watched as he approached her. Nate held out a bowl of spaghetti out to her, "here"

Matty took it and stared him, "thank you" she told him. Matty basically scarfed it down not having a home cooked meal in a very long time. Her mother was quite busy between working and her personal life. Matty most nights just grabbed something from a box, ate a peanut butter sandwich or nothing at all.

Matty placed her bowl off on the side before looking around at all the different trophies in his room. It was plain room. She stared at a picture before feeling a hand trail up her waist. Matty turned to look at him. She stared at him.

Nate stared back at her before taking her face into his hands. He ran his thumb over her bottom lip. Matty stayed perfectly still staring back into his brown eyes.

Nate Jacobs did not understand why he was so obsessed with Matty Lynn. Maybe it had  something to do with the fact that the girl was not afraid of him but not push him so far. She had a mask up just like him.

At first he thought it was her looks. She was beautiful and sexy girl. Matty did not put a good girl image up like most girls. She was wild and it drove him crazy. Maddy was similar but something about Matty Lynn drove him crazy. He had whispers around the school about what the girl but the thing was no one really knew her. She kept people at a distance and Nate wanted nothing but to break that wall.

"I don't want you to kiss me" Matty told him.

"why not?"

"because I said so"

And Nate Jacobs listened to her.

"okay" he said.

Matty pulled away from him, "can you take me home now" she asked him.

"yeah" Nate nodded and then grabbed her hand, "if you ever need anything. call me" he told her.

Matty looked up at him, "thanks Nate" she said quietly.

"I won't let anything happen to you" he told her.

"I don't need saving Nate" she told him, "and you're definitely not my saving grace"

"I don't need saving Nate" she told him, "and you're definitely not my saving grace"
