In the Crystal Lake dimension, at least, that's what Tony had decided to call it, Iron Man sat on a piece of debris that was in orbit near where the portal should have been.
"And every one was a hen-a-ry, hen-a-ry, Henry the eighth I am, I am. Henry the Eighth I am... Second verse, same as the first!" Tony sang inside the Iron Man helmet.
"Excuse me, sir," said Jarvis.
"Yeah, Jarvis. What is it?"
"Well, not that I don't enjoy your singing, it is quite lovely."
"Why thank you, Jarvis."
"But don't you think, given that we don't know when the portal will reopen, if at all, it might be best to conserve our limited air supply?"
"Well, I would go and collect some more technology samples, but I don't want to stray too far from the coordinates and I've got to do something to pass the time."
"Perhaps you would like to play some video solitaire."
"I want to keep my eyes peeled in case the portal opens."
"Then might I suggest you let me read a book to you, sir? Mark Twain perhaps?"
"Second verse, same as the first!" shouted Tony.
